Default Will one of these newly elected Presidents negatively affect the card market?

Since there seems to be some really off-topic threads lately...

...at least this pertains to the card collecting world.

Can either Presidential candidate help out the card collecting market? Any thoughts positive or negative??? I'm curious if this will bring out some intelligent conversations.

If they sign cards it will bring money to our market........If they do not sign, or are few and far between sign........Wait......... yes it will help the card market!
If they use the candidates in their sets it will drive it! How can it not.

Heres how I see it.

Obama - Tax policy screws small business/large business owners. They in turn can't hire/keep employees. People lose their jobs and can't spend money on cards.

McCain - No idea. Tax policy helps both classes, upper class more so than middle. But by decreasing the taxes on businesses, I would expect job creation to go up as well as wages. Which in turn should correlate to more money being spent on wax/singles.

Just my thoughts.

That is a good assessment.

Patrick,

Good conversation there. So if what you're saying ends up being true, we should all turn into buyers and stay away from selling if Obama wins.

creating more minimum wage jobs does nothing. Minimum wage going up also doesn't fix problems.

I don't forsee either really helping the "card market" Higher taxes should put less $$ into the market, yet sharing the wealth will give those of us living in the middle some extra $$ to spend. I think helping businesses should help everyone, but at the same time with overseas work being cheaper, hard to keep that money directly here which is what our economy needs.

Not saying that min. wage jobs do much, but if your in the situation that I'm in, where my employer makes around $250k per year, and I make a small amount, Obama may end up screwing me out of a job. Taxes go up on my employer, they can't give me the 40+ hours a week I'm getting now. I in turn can't buy cards and lose my apt because I can't make my monthly payment.

250k a year, is your employer Joe the plumber(please let that guy get hit by lightning"

See Im not in a great paying job but it's a job that will always be there for me, that's where Im having trouble. I could try for a higher paying job but there's no securities in them. I also don't believe either candidate will save this economy right now.

Cards, nothing will save them, their overproduced and watered down now.
