Default Payment through Paypal question/problem

I just came across something that I think bothers me. I just bought something on ebay that I want to pay with using my credit card. Paypal won't let me just use my credit card. They want to take the money out of my paypal balance first and use my credit card if my balance isn't enough. If it is my money why should they have the right to tell me that I have to use it over another payment method?

Only thing you can do is cash out then use your CC... unless someone else can enlighten me on how to do it as well.

That's what I did. I transfered to my savings account and then paid using my credit card. I couldn't find any place where I could not use my paypal balance. Now if there is something I want to buy with my paypal money there is a 3-4 day transfer delay where my money is in limbo.

This is just another way for them to try and control us. They collected a charge when people paid for my items. If they forced me to use my paypal balance they would not get hit with a charge from the credit card company. Now they will get charged from the credit card company just like they charge all of us.

As long as I can remember you have always had to use funds in the account first before using a credit/debit card. I just withdraw the balance to my bank account if I am in that situation. Why not earn the cash back on the credit card? lol

You can edit the payment method but they won't let you skip your paypal funds first.

Yea I had $60 in paypal balance that I got from selling DVD on Ebay. I wanted to save that up to buy various items in the future on Ebay.

I went ahead and bought a Box of card and I selected the E-Check option thinking that they would take money from the bank account and not touch my paypal balance. Three minute later I check my paypal balance and see that $44 was gone.

Youre not doing it right. You can change your funding options with ease so you dont have to use your pay pal balance. Ive paid via cc vs balance 4 times in the past 2 weeks.

Do what I do...have 2 account. One that is empty and for credit card payments. If you have any money in the account, they will make you pay with that first.
