Have a connection at Staples and these things just got a huge price cut but sold out online in minutes. I can get one for $599.99 + an additional 10% off. Thinking this is a good deal?

Any thoughts? This for the wife who would be using it for MS Office apps and surfing the net.

I would recommend that you stay away from HP/Compaq. I would have one built to my specifications if I were you.

that's a nice deal for $539. it's tough to find something with a C2D and 4GB for under $600 these days, much less a dell.

MS Office, Surfing the net, also will bring to school to use SmartBoard technology.

Felt the offer was too good to pass up so I pulled the trigger. Have 14 days to return it if I am not satisfied.

That dell should be fine. Do you already have office. If she is a teacher she can get a big discount on office.
