Default Words of Advice for You Sellers Out There...

If you charge a few dollars in shipping for a single card, please, please, please don't just put that card with no protection in a plain white envelope with a single 42 cent stamp on it...

I just received an Elway Patch SK card today that was shipped in a plain white envelope with a 42 cent stamp on it. I paid $4.00 for shipping! The card was hanging more than half way out of the "factory sealed" case. (Of course it's not sealed anymore as the seal is forever broken). The auction stated the card was in mint condition. Not anymore.

These types of cards are too rare to just send back to the seller demanding a refund and hope that I'm able to find another one. I just sent an email to the seller giving him the chance to make it right before I leave feedback. I know it's Saturday, but if I don't hear from him by this evening, he's getting a BIG FAT negative. Oh, and did I mention it took 2 weeks to get to me. I'm a patient person, and had this card still been sealed, I would have given him positive feedback with 5 stars across the board. Not now, unless he has something really good to say to me in a few hours.

I write this as "words of advice" to any sellers out there. I will no longer hold back on giving out negatives if sellers treat my cards, I bought and paid for with good money, with reckless care on how they ship them to me. I honestly don't mind paying $4.00 in shipping fees as long as there is a padded envelope, (or something equivalent), and well protected cards. I'm confident that I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I completely agree- problem is that it only takes one or 2 bad sellers to ruin it for others..... I charge $2.50(.10 each additional card) and I am going to start looking at how much I pay for shipping on cards and how fast I received them or how fast were they shipped and how-

There is no excuse for what the seller did but at least that isnt nearly as bad as what I experienced 2 months ago when I bought 4 Notre Dame FB Tix vs Pittsburgh($600 for the 4) and the seller charged $25 and sent them in the same plain envelope with stamps like your card

Good luck

Al,

You're exactly right how a few bad apples spoils the bunch. I will say though, I won't ever hold other sellers accountable for what the few bad ones have done. I just thought I should say this in here in case some sellers practice this method.

I can't believe someone sent you those tickets in that envelope. They're pretty trusting in the USPS system.

Now that sellers cannot leave retaliatory feedback I leave very honest feedback. If something is not right the Neg Hammer falls without warning. Luckily I have been having a good run of buying on ebay recently so I haven't had to hammer anyone recently, but I don't give leaving negatives a second thought anymore.

Yes *not good* ..thats definitely marginal +refund imo... I have received cards this way and for the life of me I can't figure out if these guys have any common sense. If they don't they shouldn't be in this hobby.

What that is, is a huge ol' slap in the face right there. Who sends cards in plain white envelopes?
Kids, that's who.
I would absolutely do a chargeback through paypal."Factory sealed" is "not as described."

another side to this is.................... i get at least 2-3 buyers a month who ask if they can send a SASE instead of paying $2.50 for a Bubble mailer and all the fixins.
