What brand scanner is it? Some Epson scanners have ICE software that eliminates all scratches, dust, blemishes on the subject being scanned.

With all the variations in foil and surfaces it will be a challenge to get perfect results across the board. Try to keep settings for basic cards and work around all the wacky ones. It's also hard to scan through holders whether they are from graded cards or cases you don't want to open.
That scan looks great for an ebay post or reference to show others. I have always found it difficult to get a good scan of a magnetic or screw down holder due to the thickness of the holder.

I have that same problem, it works best if you just scan them in the penny sleeve but than you run the risk of damaging the card so i usually just do them in a regular toploader.

I've got an Epson Stylus CX4800 all in one. It does a good job scanning the one-touch magnetic holders and other toploaders & etc... I think that card is very gradeable. At least by looking at the scan it looks pretty good. Someone may complain about that screw down holder though

I don't trust them. If you have a card that is slightly too big it "can" crush it. Not saying that they all do, just would rather not risk it. Especially for a higher $$ card. Magnetics aren't going to be as tight on the card, and if it is too small it won't close.
I prefer the regular toploader method with a team bag holding it closed. The only card I have in a magnetic is my Lemieux Patch Auto from the Cup break, and that is only because it came to me like that. __________________ -Patrick Pittsburgh Panthers ***2008 Big East Tournament Champions*** Collecting Steelers, Penguins, and Pirateshttp://www.checkoutmycards.com/Users/pskell02 |
