Not sure if that was actually a td...but glad it was. Because I'm not sure the Steelers could of made it on 4th and 1/2. Personally I'd of gone for the FG (after a delay of game penality to move it back a little). Both D's played great. Be very interesting to see if Pitt can get the # 1 seed or not. I think they're the team to beat right now. They've had the hardest schedule and I think realistically are playing very well. They need to get the running game going better...but other than that I think they're in great shape.

I agree with ya Steelers...If the rules are he was in the endzone then OK but I've always thought the ball had to cross the line
Great game either way, I just think we were cheated out of OT and more great football Steelers are in the playoffs either way, win or lose today

the ball has to break the plane of the goal line............. a players entire body (minus his hands with the ball) can be in the endzone and it is NOT a TD if the ball doesn't cross the line........ and teh ball clearly did not cross the line

I'm on the fence about weather or not the ball was caught and controlled on the goal line. I'm going to say it was, but there was not enough video evidence to show that he had a TD. I would have let the play stand. But regardless of the call, I feel that they would have been able to move the ball 6 inches on 4th and goal to get the TD anyways.
Think I'm gonna have to call in sick to work next week just so I can see Pitt vs Tenn.

So refs should make calls based upon tackling effort?? I know that's not what you mean but, hey if it were true no wonder the Steelers get the calls.
They don't just hit ya they hit you hard...Ol'school Big Daddy Cain quote from my college days

come on now... the ratbirds offense is sh*t like always... but that was a horrible call.. the afc is wideopen... pittspuke aint that good along with the rest of the nfl... very average year.. i wish we could go back in time to have a dynasty and maybe I would be more interested in this season.. NBA has Hollywood Faker, Celts, and Cavs..... MLB has Beaneatter, Overspenders, and Mess.. all of those teams are sexier than anybody in the NFL right now.. Hell UNC in college hoops is more appealing than the NFL

Okay folks. Let's face it. No matter if the ball did break the plane or if it did not...it's been called as if it did. That call cannot be changed and the Steelers won, which no doubt makes me very happy. I cannot say for sure if it did...I think it might have, and apparently so did the ref.
As for the Steelers, let's not forget that there have been many times that the refs have come back after the game saying 'Oops...we made a mistake...we're sorry, but you still lose.' Let us not forget the famous coin toss in OT...a COIN TOSS!!! Let's face it. Refs are human and human are prone to error no matter what. I rag on the refs as much as anyone, and probably always will, but mistakes will happen...and what's done is done.

I mean that during the 4th quarter, the Ravens seemed to be making lazy attempts at tackling - allowing short gains to turn into big ones. If those tackles are made, who knows - maybe Pittsburgh doesn't get close to the end zone. The Baltimore D was locked in for the first 3 quarters, then seemed to be on cruise control in the 4th.

What killed the Ravens is Fabian Washington getting hurt in the 3rd quarter. Their cornerback depth past Rolle and Washington is suspect so whenever Corey Ivy and Frank Walker are in the game together bad things tend to happen for them.
If Washington is in the game, I think the Ravens play a little more aggressively because they'd be less afraid of giving up the big play.

It's a good thing the Steelers D is #1 because their offense is ranked in the 20's and they won 5 games by less than a TD any of those games could have turned into a loss. They are playing good ball and no one wants to play them in the playoffs but let's not crown them SB Champs. If they get down by 10 or more points in a game they could be in trouble.

Call could have went either way and I 'd have accepted it. The furthest point of the ball only has to break the first trace of white on the goal line for it to be 6. For anyone to say conclusivly that it happened is beyond me and I love the Steelers almost as much as the Eagles.
I don't see how they could overturn the original call of no TD based on the camera views shown ![]() Either way, I think its pretty obvious Ben and his 6'5" 240+ lb frame could have easily snuck in the go ahead TD on 4th and a 1/2" the next play. Tomlin coaches to win and Roethlisberger is a winner. No doubt in my mind he goes for it on 4th down.
