Angry Image Shack Virus

I use Firefox, but ImageShack has been broken in that for a while (basically because Firefox is blocking all ads and dodgy stuff, so ImageShack doesn't work). I have IETab which I sometimes use to view pages in Internet Explorer.

If you view images on ImageShack from now on, and you get redirected to other sites via a popup or something (or sometimes even if you don't), you will be probably get a few viruses from those sites. My Avast has been blocking like crazy whenever I use ImageShack.

Recently Internet Explorer became vulnerable to a new security hole.

So I recommend to all members that they find a different host, and use Firefox. Tinypic is virus free so far and works well. As does ImageVenue, I think.

Let's avoid using ImageShack because it's totally sold out and is no longer a good host.

That is one threads I read about online. I have been using Mozilla Firefox for the past 5 years and Image Shack for the past 3 weeks. My computer now has a virus which keeps showing pop up advertisements with Internet Explorer (which I don't even use).

It's quite annoying and now have to have my harddrive fixed and cleaned. I would avoid using Image Shack at all costs. If anyone has any stories regarding this let me know. I would encourage others to use other sites as a means to post pictures. If you know of any others, please let me know.

BlowOut - I would discourage the use of this site if I were you - people have been experiencing many problems as a result.

Thanks guys!!

Apparently a pop-up comes up asking to install some virus protection program, and even if you X out the message, the virus can be uploaded to your computer.

I have found horror stories on several web forums just now.
