Default Anyone else have an Elf on the Shelf?

So my kids Elf "Cheerio" showed up today.

My kids are fascinated on how he "reports" to Santa each night on if they have been bad or good for the day and comes back each morning and is in a different location.

I never knew about these till I came down to the south but I'm getting as much fun out of it as they are.

I'll post a pic each day on where he shows up but for now he has already escaped from his box and is on his way to the North Pole...

If you have one join in on the fun and share some experiences or whatever. I know some times the elf will be good but other he can be a little bad too lol

Here is Cheerio all cozy in his shipping box from Santa

Ohhhh no I was going to bed and he has already left for the North Pole!!!

Where will he show up in the morning???

I think he is going to show up passed out in front of booby bar with a half flask of whiskey in his hand.

We have had one for 2 years now... Eddie (my daughter named him) comes out the day after Thanskgiving (or whenever we get our X-mas tree up) I almost forget sometimes to move him from day to day... but my daughter will whoooop someones ass if they even THINK about coming close to him or trying to touch him... LOL

I can count on her being good for 1 month out of the the year until Eddie leaves Christmas Eve until the next year lol

My son doesnt care about him yet, he is only 2, but he tries to get him if he is reachable. and it drives my daughter nuts lol.... it's fun to watch

Now if I could just avoid seeing the damn things in stores... someone at her school told her they had one too and thir mom got it from a store, my daughter said Santa sent hers.. and the kid said "Wow, you must be famous" I would pay anything to keep that goofy innocence forever LOL!

Not a problem...So far its a blast and my kids reactions are priceless...the rules say you cant touch him but you can talk to him..i swear they sat next to him for about an hour telling him stuff, reading him stories, etc...

I love this time of year!!!!

My girls love coming downstairs each morning looking for "Buddy". One morning they found him playing cards with a stuffed Santa and another time he was riding the Barbi jeep on top of a bookshelf.

usually I can hear my daughter walking around the house looking for him before she comes to my room in the morning lol

the first thing I hear is... " HAVE YOU SEEN EDDIE? " lol

We have two - Amos and Andy (girls named them) that give treats each morning and leave a note every once and a while.

If the girls are having trouble listening or talking back, they do not show up the next day and then in the note the day after that, it is mentioned they went to speak to Santa.

The elves get into everything and hang off, on, in everything in the house.

I had never heard of them till I got to the South as well...but let me tell you, they work wonders!!!!

We have "Elmer" the Elf. My 3 year-old loves finding him each morning. It is a lot of fun to see the look on his face each morning when he finds him!

LMAO Holding him hostage, probably one hell of an idea! Lol who better to hold hostage than one of Santa's helpers. Screw the Naughty List give me some Presents!!

We also have an elf (can't remember his name he has only been around about 3 or 4 days). I like the disappearing to go tell santa angle! Might have to borrow that one. Otherwise it is pretty cool every morning my daughter is up to find the Elf. So far I haven't forgot to move him yet lol! The other night he and I were having a few beers sitting on the couch watching tv, pretty cool guy!

Had never heard of them until today. but it wouldn't have mattered. My 2 boys now 25 and 28 would have taken it to the back yard and buried it. Not kidding.

Design Dazzle: 100 Mischievous ELF Ideas

We did the dry erase on the framed photos...which our kids loved!
