Looks like I'm heading there the two weeks this month. Unsure what we'll be doing in the evenings and/or if I'll actually be in Albuquerque or north of there. Weekends will be mine to explore, planning on heading west and watching the Santa Fe Railroad line for a few hours (busiest set of tracks in the US from what my coworker has told me...he's a railroad nut and I'm not opposed to it)...but open to suggestions! Oh yeah, if your in the area let me know and maybe we can meet up.

Not sure. More concerned about the altitude....basically now I'm a flatlander and might be working anywhere from 8000 ft to 10000 ft. Lots of snakes (rattlers) and I'm sure sand...not sure how many fish I'll catch. Just got to remember its not like MI, we've only got one rattlesnake and he's not enough to kill you, so I'm more than curious with the local wildlife....the NM snakes might get the better of me or the black widows. But I'll get the rundown on how to use the antivenom they carry

Nope. Still unsure if we're driving (~22), flying (6-8), or taking the train (24+ hours). All I know is I want to get back Friday night so I can take off for Toronto early Sat AM, meet up with Steve (flobert) and bust that Superalitve at ITG's both!

I have few suggestions. If the weather permits and it is in season, whitewater rafting in the Taos Box is a lot of fun. They even offer an overnight trip that I have been wanting to try. It may be a little too cold this time of year, though. The trout fishing in Cimarron Canyon is good. Both of those trips would be a little bit of a drive, but not a bad weekend getaway.
Closer to Albuquerque, you may want to look into Sandia Lakes as well as the Sandia Casino. Not Las Vegas, but have heard it is a nice place. Speaking of Vegas...parts of Red Dawn was filmed in Las Vegas, NM (not worth seeing compared to other parts of NM). Hope this helps. Britt

Maybe try to avoid getting bit by a Rattlesnake. Thats why i'll stay up here in Illinois. If i even heard one of those things i would run away and start crying.

You can visit the bar where they filmed that scene from Wild Hogs... Santa Fe is a cool touristy town... Just watch out for the Jackalopes...

Hey guys...if you ever get down this way...check out Derek's Dugout! Great store for Singles and to find out he really doesnt even sell wax (most if not all is on a presale basis). He had a ton of singles and boxes to paw through. Ended up getting a really nice Andre Johnson 3CL Jersey Card (03 Skybox LE Skys the Limit /99). But also picked up an 04 Aflac Redemption Set and what I was very happy to find a huge stack of 5000 ct boxes that he wanted 15 bucks each for. I looked and found one with 83 and 84 topps baseball so for 15 bucks I took them with me...now just got to figure out how they're getting back to Michigan!
Derek's Dugout 5842 Osuna Rd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 883-0012
