Why doesn't....

When you make a thread and then a few days later you want to change the title why doesn't it change? I mean when your on the thread it shows the new title but when your looking at the homepage it doesn't. I'm just a little curious as to why my thread title won't change. Any help is appreciated!

Only MODs can change thread titles.

Okay I see... so do they have to approve it or something then? I still don't get why mine would get changed?

ND3 is correct. The only way a title can be changed is by the moderators. Its got something to do with the level of permissions needed, if you had the ability to edit titles, you'd also have the ability to edit others posts, just the way the software is setup...something you need changed? Shoot me a PM.

Sometimes it's just to make more sense of your post, or make it more informative so that people can decide if they want to click on your post or not. Most of the times it's to help you out.

I frequent another vbulletin forum where users are allowed to change their own thread title without having the ability to change others.

I've seen that too (FCB & TCC) of course SCF won't though...

Its all good. Its probably just a simple setting that has to be changed, the only problem is finding it. I've seen the admin panel on a phpbb forum, and if its anything like vbulletin, you better have some free time on your hands.
