Nothing surprises me anymore. Pretty Ironic where and when that happened. It's to bad.

That is ridiculous, thanks for posting. I love when they tell him "You're not the media". Then they follow that up by explaining how he broke the rules, saying "we have a designated area for the media". As funny as I found John to be at times, the whole situation is somewhat embarassing.

As much as I truly would like to say his rights were violated, they technically were not. He was on private property. In this country - as it should be - private property rights are extremely important. If a person is asked to leave private property, and doesn't, this is called trespassing.

IF THIS WAS PUBLIC PROPERTY, HOWEVER, things would be MUCH different.

I completely agree it was handled wrongly - and they should have just let him be. They merely showed the world the fascist nazi tactics that certain law enforcement agencies and officials use on a daily basis.

Is a State University grounds considered private property given that it is in part funded by the government.

Here I was agree with your post, and you had to throw the last unfounded comment in there......

For one, the whole first 8-9 minutes of the video was hired SECURITY! Not officers.... HUGE difference. When the campus olice did show up, then things were somewhat handled more appropriately, and his handcuffs were removed.

As you said though, this would have been completely different had it been in a public location and not private. Those that are offended by this, ask your self if you would like a local transient to come sit on your front porch and ask questions to all your guests coming to you house.

As I undersatand it, all school campus's are considered such, even "Public" school grounds, thats what allows schools to deny access to anyone without a "pass", etc.

Yeah, Media would be bored in front of my house. The cool thing is I would have someone to watch my kids play in the yard. Free Child Care.
