Default Question about making your own Sketch-cards

Hi all,

I happen to know someone who is a VERY GOOD artist, and I was wondering if it was possible for her (or legal) to sell her own sketch cards.

I'm guessing it's worrying due to copyright issues, but does anyone know to what extent she can draw to?

For example:

If she makes a sketch of Spider-Man and lists it on the bay, would she get in trouble for it?

(They sell tradeable sketch cards in art stores, same thing that artists use to put into trading cards)

Thanks!

I'd PM ted on this, but as long as its an original drawing and not a copy of a drawning (say they're trying to redo either an exact comic book image and/or cover) they'd be ok.

Wow, great advice. I'll advertise some on here, maybe you'll catch some of her sketches before she gets famous. lol

I have a friend I am thinking about backing. He is a fantastic artist and we are thinking about doing painted jerseys and sketch cards. I contacted Ebay and they said the same thing Robert is saying. As long as it is an original design you are ok.
