We have two printers in my house, both never prints. My printer is a new Espon Stylus NX420. I have it hooked up to WI-FI and to my computer. It never prints anything, including labels from eBay. And when I go to scan something, 75% of the time it says it isn't hooked up. I've probably spent $20 on labels that never print. It's frustrating and please help me before I toss it out the window, thanks!

You'll need to provide more information.
For starters, what OS, and also, have you downloaded the latest drivers from Epson.com? For basic troubleshooting, connect it to the PC you are having problems with directly (USB?) and see if it works correctly. Then, you know the problem has to do with wi-fi. |

Turn off your computer(s) and printers, all of them. Now, turn off your wireless router, then unplug the power cord from the wall. Wait ten seconds, plug the wireless router back into the wall, and let it cycle through until it's fully functioning. Now, turn on your computer and printers, and try to print.
Report back if that did the trick...

Get rid of Vista and get Windows 7. Save yourself a ton of headache.

The quickest solution to your printer problem is to use USB instead of wireless. Then when you have some free time, completely uninstall the printer, reset it to factory defaults and try the install over again.

The problem was mostly with the USB connected. I only tried with the WI-FI once. It'll scan, but it takes a while for it to actually say it is hooked up. I unhook and hook it up like 3-5 times then it finally says it is plugged in. But it still won't print anything. |

Try this:
1. Physically disconnect your printer from your PC. 2. Go into start menu and click on devices and printers. 3. Your Printer should be listed by the name you have given it. 4. Remove the printer by right clicking on the icon for it (delete printer or remove device) 5. Connect your printer using USB to your PC and then power on the printer. 6. It should recognize the device and tell you it is installing software for printer. 7. If that succeeds go and print a test page. If you cant print a test page then you have some other problems, possible a bad printer. |
