I'm within driving distance of at least 4 refineries and the cheapest gas I can find is at Costco and it's almost 4 bucks a gallon now.

Yup. I don't know how many on here can say they were around for that (or driving at least), but I remember sometime during highschool (graduated in '98), I'm thinking like '97 probably, when gas was definitely below $1. It was weird, but good. I wondered whether that would ever happen again or remain that way as well.

I don't own a car these days and rarely drive, so I consider myself very fortunate in that sense. I feel for those that depend on driving to work hours every day that have to be at the mercy of these fluctuating prices. Really really sucks.

Just cost me $120 to fill up my truck yesterday and it's at $3.64 a gallon here. Time to start riding the bike to work.

I graduated in 99 and started driving in 97, I remember filling up my Ford Bronco at $.99 a gallon, it wasn't even that long ago, only 15 years ago and gas has gone up 4x, just crazy.
