We do this too. One thing I would say to try is something neither of you guys have done before & doing that more often than the dinners & such. Dinners & movie are cool too, but get mundane after a while like doing it in the same position all the time.

Things that are out of the norm are best, because it builds excitement like when you guys were kids. Hope that helps & im sure you'll be penetrating soon enough. MMTBVS THE RULER....

Seriously date nights are ok. Like most here that do them its mainly time away from the kids to do things you can't do with them ! We always try and go to a restaurant our daughter won't or can't eat at just so it is different. Dinner out (this way there are no dishes to clean up) and movie night at home is your best plan of action to get some of the cooch. Suck it up watch something that you would not tell us you watched otherwise (think Notebook or Fireproof). If that doesn't work my friend you are screwed in the cooch department. Only good reason any man should watch any of those types of movies. 1 or 2 nights a month are good and like someone said before don't do it because the others are doing it, eventually thats all she will see it as and you are back to the ole rosie palm. My wife and i try this date night stuff too. We have a 17 month old, and normally my parents take him overnight once a week for us... When our work schedules work out we plan a date night. It normally goes with a nice dinner, then maybe a walk by the lake. Then at this point i think i'm gonna get lucky, and sure as sh*t, i get nothing. I find i have better luck getting action when i dont give a f*ck... Try it

1. don't expect "the cooch" on the first date, even if you are married. If you get it, congrats, its an added bonus! Let her make the first move.

2. write her a little note the morning of your date saying how much you are looking forward to your evening together.

3. Re-connect with her on an emotional level. Talk about stuff that you normally wouldn't talk about with her. Ask her questions about things she is intrested in, etc.

4. dress to impress

5. Tell her how beautiful she looks and mean it.

I personally prefer fun casual dates like mini-golf. Our town also has this event called First Friday where all the local shops stay open later on the first Friday of the month and serve free wine. My husband and I are going next week. I can't wait to spend the evening with him. Does he get "the cooch", you ask? 2-4 times per week because he does all the things I listed minus dress to impress. He'd be up to 5 if he dressed better.

It gets really tough once you start having kids. Our families are all from out of town, and most of our friends have kids themselves, so it's quite the ordeal getting the sitter(s) lined up. We try to get a sitter and go out every few weeks or so.
