Default What to bring to card show?

I have actually never been to a card show and going to my first one in 2 weeks and I was wondering what I should bring with me besides money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well when some guys come down and set up table in our mall I try to bring cards and ask them for offers to see if they will buy them. Or are you setting up?

Bring a small notepad to write down contact info or to give contact info. If someone has a card that you are interested in and they don't end up selling it they might want to contact you later to offer you a better price than what they quoted you on? If you are unsure about anything you can always check the BV if they have a book, or you can bring one?

You should also bring supplies to hold your purchases such as 400 count boxes, penny sleeves, rigid card holders. Price guides are also a good idea (save your money and bring an old one) because your mind will start swimming in numbers once you see all the cards. It can come in handy when you are trying to determine if your Quarter Box find is worth $1.00 or $5.00.

I think back that my first card show was in 1982 when I was 15 and I could not sleep for days before going. Glad to see your excitement in the hobby.

Good luck!

For smaller shows I carry a backpack with an empty 400 ct box, a few toploads, books for value references, and a notebook.

At larger shows with autograph guests, I use a 25" tall wheeled suitcase. I can fit a couple dozen baseballs, plus the above stuff and there is room to stick a few wax boxes in there as well. The side zip pockets work well for extra storage too.

....and as ND3 said a pocket full of money (old guy who can't see well is optional).

I usually bring a pocket full of money, my check book, and I make sure there are some dealers there that know me, that always helps when you have to write a check.
