Nascar: They have fast reflexes, tremendous endurance (they lose several pounds of water weight in every race), and it requires amazing concentration for 3+ hours... It's certainly not easy to do what they do.

If it's not a sport what is it, a game?

Horse racing and NASCAR are sports. They take a tremendous amount of conditioning. Could you get up and race against other humans with out any training? Or sit in a car and lose 2-5 pounds in water weight per race? I doubt it.

So you are saying that competitive eating is a sport too? Joey Chestnut trains. So anything that requires "training" is a sport now? I potty train my kids, guess that's a sport too. Who would have thought that taking a dump in the can is the same as playing football?

Okay, let's summarize our findings...

Conditioning? Check
Lose Weight? Check
Endurance? Check
Fast relexes? Check
Training? Check
Concentration? Check
Flexibility? Check

Okay, who wants to go with me to the local sporting event......

NASCAR isnt a sport....??

Joke right?
Drivers lose 5-10 lbs in sweat per race. 100+ degrees in the car?
Your average joe can clearly pull that off!

Have you ever seen in a fat nascar driver? No because they dont have the upper body strength to drive them cars

Fat baseball player? Yes
Fat football player?: HAHA HUGE!
Fat basketball player? Seen it!!!

Iv driven a NASCAR and it def takes a lot out of you.

I don't see a lot of Jockeys dying from exhaustion after races. I think it's safe to say that the horse is one of the most athletic creatures out there. More than any human IMO.

Last I checked, I couldn't play NASCAR on a county league or in organized activities. Golf is unfortunately a sport along with bowling. You can grow up playing those.

Unless your Dad is Joe Gibbs or Mario Andretti, I doubt anyone had that luxury.

GOlf + Bowling = Sport

NASCAR = Skilled Activity, but NOT a sport

Not sure why you're quoting me. He asked if we'd ever seen a fat NASCAR driver, to which I responded with a photo of Tony Stewart shoe-horning himself through his car window.

But to answer your misdirected question, I don't believe I've ever seen a fat linebacker...

Quite a normal train of thought on a forum:

Silly question.
Answer yes.
Answer no.
Answer yes.
Answer no because.
Well then what about.
What do mean what about.
I mean about.

The real sport is not laughing at the people in the stands sitting next to you. I've seen some real winners in the stands at the ole dirt track.

spectator 1- "Hey thats my brother driving that number 4 car."

spectator 2- "Oh yeah, well he #@#@#@#@ing cheated last week. Runnin' bigger heads than whats allowed. My cousin shoulda had him tore down."

spectator 1- "Your cousins can't drive mother #@#@#@#@er. And his mechanics a #@#@#@#@ing drunk."

*Then they both stand up to start the fight, only to be held back by an army of toothless fat women.*

spectator 1's fat wife- "I orrta let him go so he'd whoop yer old mans azz."

spectator 2's sister- "My brober'd beat the piss outta yer man. His mouths a writing checks his azz can't cash."

Best $10 you'll ever spend IMO. Boogety, boogety, boogety!

Is a horse an athlete? No, because some of those horses are female and everyone knows women aren't athletes.

The "sport of kings" has been around for a long time.

If, (and I do mean "if"), it takes an athlete to participate in sports, then a horse would have to be classified as an athlete.
