I'm no animal activist, but even I think this is completely wrong to do.

So is killing a cow for beef when you have alternative food sources! But I guess that wouldnt count because people enjoy eating beef!!

I had this disucussion with an american economist the other week at a conf. He was all for the killing of Canadian Geese in the US because they increase in population that is uncontrollable. Here in Canada its illegal to kill them. They shat in lakes and kill ecosystems everywhere. He insisted that killing them was the only way to go about it, while I suggest relocation was a better idea. His point was relocation would be a waste of money as they would come back.

In theory, maybe money comes before moral responsiblity? RUnning of the bulls probably has more to do with tourism than tradition!!

I think it's harder to die a horrible paiful death in a tomato fight but go for it.

Hey, I hate Canadian Geese probably more then you (I'm a fisherman, and have literally been attacked 100+ times by them) but I still don't approve of killing them. They are huge PITA's though. They raid our fields, walk across our roads stopping traffic, and #@#@#@#@ everywhere

Cows/Beef, cmon man, we're freakin carnivores.......playing w/ mother nature is something different. My grandfather taught me well about, and for good reason.

I do agree it's for tourism, more then tradition though....

I used to be against hunting before. The advocate would always preach that without hunting we would have over populated surroundings which would eventually lead to a demise on our green cycle. I didnt care so as long as hunting animals was cruel no matter how I looked at it. I have changed my viewpoint on it now. Same with fishing. Im all about rec fishing but over fishing was my main issue.

Fishing issue started with Canada banning the killing of whales. I totally agree with that until they banned it for Inuits in Northern Canada. Its not as if these people poach whales. They fish for whale meat out of necessitiy. But the ban was put for everyone.

I dont support inhumane killing of animals. I dont really support recreational hunting either. But im also not against it if the law permits it. I feel the same way for gun ownership. Im not for it, but all power to you if you a gun owner as the law states you can.
