Default Attn: Full Tilt Poker Players

The DOJ has officially approved the sale of FTP to Poker Stars today. I can't get you the link, because I found out via Twitter and can't be bothered to send this post from my phone, but if you google "DOJ sale of FTP to Stars Diamond Flush", I am sure you will find the press release.

Interesting wording here:

"PokerStars is prohibited from offering online poker in the US for real money unless and until it is legal to do so under law."

All FTP funds I have read are going to be repaid 100% - by the DOJ to Americans and by PokerStars to RoW players.

Arghhhh these poons need to make poker online legal in the U.S again. I'll put my SSN in and everything, I was making about $100 a week playing low-blind LIMIT because that's where all the donks are Makes it easy to not tilt if you don't give a damn.

It was never legal inthe fact that moving funds to and from the sites in an illegal act.

I know Washington State went so far as to make online poker illegal.

And I'm sure you paid your taxes on all those winnings right?

I think most people who played regularly did. I know I did. Makes me wonder (and I actually tweeted Russ Fox about it, to see what he thinks will happen) if the IRS will tax refunds from the DOJ before they are given to Americans. That would piss me off, since I already paid taxes on them. We'll see, I suppose, I am just happy to get some of it back, if not all.

My tax situation in the past has always been complicated (cards, comics, poker, etc.)... that's what the CPA is for right?

Since I started working my way into pharmacy rather than working with the family business, I've learned to work with much less money. I won't be paying taxes on the money I earn at the Plasma Donation center

I only had a Level SnG ticket when FTP got owned by the DoJ. So glad I cashed out of both PS and FTP before this whole mess.
