You will all be hearing from me once we know what the challenge will be. We've been pushed to the shore, and I don't want to get wet, so it's time to push back.

Donald BOHICA - For the next challenge we've teamed up with Nissan to promote the all new 2013 Nissan Altima. Please come up with a slogan and a 30 second commercial to promote the vehicle and sell it based on it's features.

oh god. i do NOT know much about cars.

uh, i DO know that the Altima I rented for my big road-trip to Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minnesota was an Altima, and that bastard got amazing gas mileage and had a freaking huuuuuge tank.

RKC, i really got nothing great to help with on this one unfortunately. I think it's ultimately in our best interest to make the 30 second spot appeal to the middle class as well as the upper crust. Maybe alternate shots of a "regular" family pulling off of the lot with their new car, parking it in the garage, and then leaving in the morning to go to work at some decent looking job building area ish

Then at night, have the guy and girl go to a really ritzy party in it where they get out and a valet takes it (saying something like "nice" when they get behind the wheel or something dumb like that) and then have them walk into the big event with press around or some-such.

i dunno. some way to make it appeal to the middle class and the higher income earners should be a priority though.

An older version with a baby in the carseat. Older version with toddler/young child bouncing around in the back seat. Older version with the guy giving the keys to his now old enough kid to drive to some high school thing. Older version of the guy giving the car to his kid at college or something. i dunno.

I like both your ideas, but #2 is especially solid. Very nice.

I'm also toying in my mind with a play on gas prices...since you said it gets killer mpg we could have the guy driving past gas station after gas station without having to stop, with the numbers going up and up and up. Only thing is I think they've done similar things with electric car commercials before, at least the passing of gas stations in general.

Looking for old slogans of theirs by the way, maybe we could tweak an old one in a new way? I found:
"Shift"
"Shift expectations"
"Shift the way you move"
"Enjoy the drive"
"Innovation for all," which was recently dropped in favor of "Innovation that excites"
"Just wait until you try it"

Also checking out Car and Driver's review - "Highs" were looks like an Infiniti (a car you would spend $20k more on), spacious interior, nearly 40 mpg highway, comfy seats, and it's lighter. Maybe we can work that looking like a fancier car into the everyman with a nightlife idea you had.

Yeah, Volkswagen had the commercial where the Jetta would pass gas station after gas station on their way to Mexico. Probably one of the funniest commercials I've seen, as when they finally stopped, they were both fluent in spanish. Hilarious.

I think we need to focus on features that set the Altima apart from other cars in its class. Obviously, they've already started the marketing campaign (commercial with dude almost going TOO far in various scenarios: poker, cologne, kissing girl, handshake with new "boss"). We will need to key in on other features, gas mileage being one of them, to make our commercial stand out.
