We're just talking acts, right? Could we do some sort of big award show or something, or a big comedy show? I figure the more stars the better - if we could get like a pay-to-show-up academy awards or something, could be huge.

I've got an idea guys that might sound far out, but I really think it would work. How about getting the original cast members of various Broadway shows to get together and perform famous scenes from the plays/musicals they were involved in. I was thinking about things like Cats, Annie, etc. More guys of a certain sexual orientation than you could shake a stick at would be lined up around the block for those tickets, even at $300 bucks for the cheap seats. We could also offer premium meet and greet tickets for folks interested in getting pictures, autographs, and such.

Perhaps we could host a huge roast of an a-list comedian, that might draw the right crowd. Perhaps Kevin Hart, Daniel Tosh, etc., and we can use the hologram thing they used for Tupac, and bring George Carlin back....

Heck yes. I like the roast idea but if we just pull Lisa Lampanelli and the typical Comedy Central Fare I don't think we'll pull big money. Now if we can get Louis, and Tosh, and Hologram Carlin, and other similar big names, then I think we're talking money.

I think it'd be a pretty sweet event to have comedy on such a large stage. When I think of comedians trying to make big shows I think of either those Roasts on Comedy Central or the Comedians of Comedy Tour that Patton Oswald and others put on. The Roasts do okay on Comedy Central and Comedians of Comedy did okay but many of their venues were so small. Time to put comedy in a large stage and see what happens.

Right, we need big names. None of this Roseann Barr or Bob Saget crap. We can pick a current hot (read: funny/popular) comedian, and have him roasted by the classics. Thinking the roasting panel could include:

Hologram:
George Carlin
Richard Pryor

In person:
Eddie Murphy (think Delirious and Raw, not Nutty Professor)
Louis CK
Rob Mulaney
And more

The subject of the roast will actually put on the show, then will be roasted afterward based on that performance, and their past.

We need more roasters, suggestions for acts, prices, etc. Shoot, you could even pay more to get 10 minutes on the roastee chair.

I was writing that after what Tajikey said before. I think I'm actually more a fan of a general stand up thing than I am a roast though. Part of the popularity of a roast is contingent on the person actually being roasted, both in how much people want to see them made fun of and how much people actually want to see them period. So while roasting, say, Justin Bieber, could get us a lot of viewers since he has a lot of fans, we'd also lose a lot of people who love good comedy but hate Justin Bieber. I think if you just make it an all stars of stand up show then you get all sorts of people who love comedy and the comedians have more freedom with their jokes than they would at a roast.

Acts: Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne headlining with PSY and Bono.

Hosts: Ricky Gervais & Christina Applegate

Event: Pop Saves the Boobies

Sponsors (to help cover more artist costs): The Coca-Cola company, Keep-a-Breast (i heart boobies people), and Yoplait.

Rationale: This will be a charity event where 40% goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer. 10% of the proceeds will go towards getting paying for the expenses of the acts (not big parties, just their travel, accommodations, and food etc.). 50% of the proceeds would go toward the venue.

Base ticket price: $1000

VIP: There will be 200 VIP passes. 100 of the passes will be for a pre-party meet and greet with the acts. 100 of the passes will be for the post-party meet and greet. 25 special passes will be available for BOTH events. These VIP passes will be auctioned off at various outlets (ebay, Sothebys, and other big auction houses) starting bid is 2500.

Pay-Per-View: The event will be shown on pay-per-view for $50.

that's the RKC submission.

DBO - Here is the math....

Roadkill Collectors - profit $0 (all went to charity, that leaves no profit)(based on performer costs, cost was not covered at all until pay per view was taken into consideration)

9 guys 1 cup - profit $60,000. (based on the broadway idea and $100 per ticket, $1000 per ticket front row)

The winning team is 9 guys, 1 cup.

newton615 please choose 2 people to bring back into the boardroom with you where one person will be fired.

oh well. we figured the acts would be free since they were performing for charity and to save boobies.

Christina Applegate was free, and I assumed Ricky Gervais was canceled out by your sponsors.

Beiber charges 300,000 per performance, and lil wayne a whopping 500,000. Both are known for very rarely working for free.

Wayne fell off, he was taking in over a mil per before he went to jail. That's where the big time sponcers were supposed to come in, apparently a few multi billion dollar companies couldn't come up with the scratch. Ill make my case now.

As pm I tried to produce the most money possible with 2 of the biggest acts in the world. Only a portion of the money was supposed to go to charitie so I don't know how we ended up with nothing but it is what it is. I feel that I've been one of the top contributors to this team and think my departure would be a mistake.
