High School Reunions...

Well, can you believe it, my 5-year high school reunion is in October. Funny thing is that I just found out now, and most people I talked to didn't know about it either. The official reservation forms haven't even arrived yet. Two questions, one, why is my school so freaking slow getting these notifications out, and two, is a five-year reunion worth it? It's not like a 20-year reunion where we all have families are are in all different states...most of us are barely out of college, not like we have totally been away from each other for years and am so anxious to see what we're all doing with our lives now...

5 year? No.. People have not changed much, and are probably worse in some cases.. I'd avoid it at all costs.. The 20th is about the right time to reconnect with old friends from HS IMHO.

Well like I said, I've pretty much kept in touch with everyone (that I want to) from my graduating class. I have absolutely no indication of exactly what the reunion will consist of, and/or who will be there. I told some of my close buddies I'm only going if they do...

I would say 20-25 years seems about right. It will probably take that many years to stomach seeing all those people again lol

I agree five year reunion is stupid at best the achievers are in graduate school or started their first year on the job and then not achievers have gone and gotten jobs are ready and hopefully they're doing well but there's a decent chance they all still live in their parents basement in the neighborhood so really it's a reunion or is it just a party we been out of school five years our lives suck?

99% of people dont accomplish squat after only 5 years removed from high school.

im still trying to get my head out of my ass and its been 11 years HAHAHA.

Plus 5 years is not long enough for the girls to come out of the woodwork admitting that they were really hot for you in High School and that you are still on their mind. Chance of scoring after she tells you this is pretty good.

5 years maybe 20 years ago is ok. 5 years now who cares, you can just be "friends" on facebook or twittering to each other if you wanted to be friends with that person. 5 years now doesn't matter

I went to my 10th a few years back and even then there were only a few who were married with kids (me being one of them). I would pass on the 5yr for sure.

Well, in the end, I decided I'm not going to my 5-year HS reunion, which is tomorrow night. In fact, I just found out how many will be in attendance. (We had a graduating class of around 180). There will be TEN people there...woohoo!

my 5 year was invite only (only select people were asked to go), my 10 year was through one of those e-invite things (I couldn't go and glad I didn't) $50/person for pizza and a former town selectman as a DJ, my 15 is in 2011 I think, I've heard nothing of it.
With facebook I'm not sure if there really is a reason to have a reunion anymore.

I always just figure that the people that I liked in high school, I keep in touch with. I don't give a crap how many dogs, or cars or whatever the other ones have.

At 5 Year Reunions the women don't have quite enough "pent up desire for what could have been with you" as they do at the 10 Year and 20 Year Reunions.

my 20th is in a few years....... there is a group of us fro HS that still keep in touch and get together twice a year, so reunions have been pointless for me. my class had 800+ graduates so when i went to my 15th... i talked to so many people who i never even knew. it was sort of cool but annoying at the same time. most of the talk was about... well, High School.
