I know someone who has a masters degrees, spells great and is extremly intelligent. They make about $42,000 a year. I also know someone who barely graduated high school and cant spell worth a crap and they pull in $115,000 a year. I am just curious who you would call the stupid one in my senario I just gave?

Who is happier?

I think they are probably both equally as smart. One is clearly book smart while the other is able to capitalize on their true potential. I have a really weird view on the world though.

I just posed that question in my earlier post and that dave guy jumped all over me. I was just asking a question and looking for peoples thoughts. He made it seem like I was trying to say I was better then other people and I have no idea where he got that thought from my post. Oh well. The way you worded it is about right to me as well. I prefer to be of average intelligence and make lots of money then to be crazy book smart and make no money what so ever, but thats just me.

My whole thing is I don't think any one is of average intillegance. I think everyone has unlimited potential but unfortunately our current educational system doesn't meet their needs. We just haven't found a way to teach them in a way that sparks that. I don't like labels however see their necessity in today's climate. I worked with children who were deemed to have special needs for 7 years. I believe you should always assume intelligence even for those labeled "profoundly retarded". This follows kids into adulthood. I could go on all day.
