Hope you have a speedy recovery. My sister had hers removed as well as my sister-in-law. They were both fine in a couple days.
Good luck!

I had mine removed several years ago. I was pretty sore for about 2 days afterwards and then I was pretty much back to normal after that. You'll be back to stalking Ahmad Bradshaw in no time!

My sister had hers removed about 10 years ago, and had a bit of a strange side effect. She lost a mild allergy to strawberries. Before the surgery, strawberries made her mouth swell abit and her skin itch. After the surgery, nothing. Since she loves strawberries, she was very happy! (And the lack of gall bladder pain was even better!)

I had mine done a few years ago and had trouble with the glue they used to close the incision. I was still fine after a couple days

Good luck with the Surgery! Be happy that you had it out before it became infected.

Hope you won't miss the Broccoli that you will be incapable of digesting after the surgery.

My mom had hers out recently and all went well.. Good luck and take a few days off and relax after, it will help. And make sure you finish any meds they give you upon discharge, even if you are feeling better.

Have fun with that "Standing up straight" thing by day 3 :P Those platform stiches are a pain in the...well..stomach
Such a pain in the ass.
FYI....After the operation, stand up, grab your IV stand, and walk laps and tell them you are ready to go...THEN, get in your car, you REALLY SCORE if it is a convertible, and find a tunnel, and drive back and forth through it for about an hour
Yah,,,this was my route. Wife finally got annoyed with the U-Turns to go in and out of the tunnel. Was the wildest audible effect I have ever had....ah yes...Anesthetic and tunnels. I had my wife drop me off at work 20 minutes later, argued with her I was perfect and lasted...maybe 7 minutes before I started throwing up

However,a few years later when they removed the appendix, while I was able to lap the hospital 2 hours after the surgery...I was unable to focus on the parking lot from the drivers seat,so that Anesthetic was not as much fun and I had to let my wife drive

I would like to add that these are the ONLY 2 surgeries that I did not wake up during. Doc knows I have a issue with standard doses so he had them upped for these....albeit the 2 times I woke up during 2 different hip replacement surgeries....horrifying :P

Enjoy the "legal" high....it's a fun ride and it's your reward for the week that follows :P

back home...how much swelling did you guys have afterwards the first day or two?

I think i'm doing ok so far...just taking Advil for the pain/swelling at this point. I got up and walked out of there after it was over with and I finished recovery...was probably about 5 hours later. Have a hard time standing up or sitting down...and if i cough it totally sucks.
