Default Dr Visit

So I went to the Urgent Care in my area with s/s of a heart attack. All the tests were run, labs drawn, xray done. Dr comes in and says the good news is you .didnt have a heart attack. The bad news is you have chronic bronchitis and calcification in your lungs. So I ask him what that means. His response was quit smoking or not be able to walk to your mailbox on your own at 50. Needless to say, Ill threw my pack of cigs out. Tough day though.

They always go for smoking because it's the elephant in every Docs room
Most Docs blow smoke up your ass and guess what ? At 50, you will still be in the same boat....smoking now will marginally hasten it...marginally. Fix your body.

Did he mention magnesium ? Vitamin C/Sodium ascorbate ?
I tend to think most avoid simple,do at home, remedies that put things right.

Easy fix,but LENGTHY fix, a year and change TBH, is 2 TBSP Lemon Juice and 1/2 tsp baking soda down the gullet 3 times a day. Add in 1000mg Vitamin C/Sodium ascorbate and add 200mg magnesium in pill form or from the following chart

High Magnesium Foods

I mean,whats a year ?

Ask YOUR doc, not a jack in the box, what he thinks.

I believe I recall in some of your first posts on this site you mentioned issues with a previous drug addiction. That stuff takes its toll on a body. Hopefully you can see a specialist to get you on a healthy path as the poster above me mentioned. Your way too young.

No one told him to keep smoking
However, everything I said is true. Feel free to check it before tossing out such a snide remark...since I am the only one who gave any advice

Hope you decide to quit smoking bro, especially with what the results given to you were. My best motivation to put the Tall Boys down were my daughters, although it wasn't a trip to the doctor that opened my eyes. Pretty sure you can guess what did.

Take care big guy. Giving up the smokes will be the best thing you have done for yourself in probably a long time.

My grandma had copd, lung tumors and all that stuff.

The last year of her life it was all she could do to take 5 steps to the bathroom. She died a painful, suffering death, all from smoking.

It was sad for all of us, she would still be alive today if not for smoking.

Ive seen it happen to one person, don't let it happen to a nice person like yourself.

Best wishes and prayers.

Ps- try the electric cigarettes. Its just water vapor, it will help you get off it.

My grandma smoked for almost 60 years and finally after a few surgeries to take out parts of her lungs, her lungs finally gave out and she passed away. Best thing to do is quit now buddy. Good luck you can do it

I agree. It's the same as someone saying (without a serious thyroid problem) "I can't lose weight". Drop the burger and be more active.

Glad that it wasn't a heart attack. I have lung disease cause by chemotherapy. It totally sucks ass. My chest constantly hurts and feels tight. Take the steps you need to know to live a happy and healthy life. Do this not only for yourself but your children. Best wishes!

Go talk to a pharmacist. Get some nicotine replacement gum and patches, and give yourself the best chance to quit. Also talk to a smoking cessation counselor and it will make it far easier to quit.

Don't do any home remedies unless they have evidence of efficacy. Some drugs interact with smoking too. Again, talk to a pharmacist. We are the medication experts!

Costs less for smoking cessation therapy than it would to keep smoking.
