What are some xbox 360 games that have an above average campaign/story mode ? This is totally your opinion of course just looking for some games that have been out for a little that I can get on the cheap that are really fun to play or are just really awesome. Pretty much all I have played is call of duty so I am open to anything. You can also include newer games as well if you want. Again not looking for sports games just games with super awesome story modes. Here are two that I have already been told are pretty good..
God of War, Bioshock |

All (I mean ALL) Assasin's Creed Games. Never heard of it before a friend brought AC1 over to my house. Mind blown.
Saints Row is an over the top version of GTA (or what GTA used to be before GTA4). No other game where you can do a drive by in a jetpack with a Fart-In-A-Jar grenade lol. The post before me basically nailed all the games lol.

I'm surprised no one has posted the GEARS OF WAR series. That's my favorite of all time as far as campaigns go. Also the Batman series was good IMO. Duke Nukem Forever was fun and hilarious to play thru.
BTW God of War is exclusive to the PS3 not 360.

I would try craigslist for cheap games. Here are some of my picks:
Skyrim (newest one) Gears of War 3 Halo 3+ Dead Island

I've had a ton of fun playing Halo 3 MP, but that was few years ago, so I don't know if it's still very active. I didn't care for Halo Reach as much with some of the gameplay mechanics they added. If you like RPG/Shooter, I'd definitely recommend several Bethesda titles, all of which are very similar in style but provide unique experiences: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim. Skyrim and Fallout 3 being my favorites. The games can be glitchy from time to time, but the freedom of exploration and sheer content in these games is what makes them enjoyable for me. Mass Effect is likely my favorite standalone Trilogy for the XBox. The game has some amazing character models and voice acting, and a very interesting storyline if you are into Sci-Fi stuff. Gameplay gets better with each iteration of the series. The coolest thing about this game is your decision making in the first title will carry over into the 2nd title's story and then into the 3rd with lots of connecting sub-plotlines. Assassin's Creed was a fun series as it combined 3rd open-world exploration with some cool parkour and fighting action. What really blew me away (in the first 2 title especially), were the beautiful historical settings. I found myself climbing buildings just to get a better view of cities I visited. I personally enjoyed AC2 the best, AC and AC Brotherhood were also a lot of fun, but I started to feel some fatigue in Revelations (last fall's release). Hopefully the new one coming out (set in US revolutionary war setting) turns things around. It looks promising. If you like arcade-style racing games, I really enjoyed Need for Speed Most Wanted, Hot Pursuit and Undercover for the police chases. Burnout Paradise is also a ton of fun to quick pick up and play. My favorite sim/racer is the Forza Motorsport series. It's definitely a top-notch franchise, tons of cars, emphasis on detail and realism and an extremely polished game. Other games I really enjoyed playing through: Red Dead Redemption Grand Theft Auto IV Dead Rising 1 and 2 Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City Orange Box: Has Portal and Everything Half-Life 2 Related Fable II and III - Lots of people hate on this franchise, but I still had a ton of fun playing through them (II especially). I'd also highly recommend finding and playing through the original Fable. I know I'm missing some others, but these are what come to mind. To be honest, you are getting into the platform at a nice time as the games are now getting really cheap and there are TON of great games out there to pick up and play through. Edit - Reading earlier posts, I'd also like to throw in my hat towards: Crackdown 1/2- Think open world GTA universe, except you have ridulous super-human strenth, speed and jumping ability - Stupid fun Left for Dead Borderlands (I heard 2 is even better) Dead Island (especially if you have a friend or more to play with online) LA Noire is really unique if you like dialogue and solving mysteries, but I started to grow tired of the game by the third disc (still haven't finished it) Lost Odyssey if you like Japanese Turn-Based RPGs Mirror's Edge is a fun rental if you want to try something unique (first person Parkour) Crysis 2 - FPS, Another fun rental to play through the campaign
