as a side note- I didn't really enjoy the book. I felt that it was written awkwardly and they shoehorned quite a few things in (i.e. the first "development they came across after Atlanta where Donna dies) was apparently the home of the Governor before Rick's group found it. among other places.


and it was written in a weird tense that didn't sit well with me. can't remember off-hand, but it kept distracting me which caused me to have a harder time assimilating and digesting the actual story. Maybe 3rd person present or 2nd person present? i'll have to find the book and take a look again.

The house in the subdivision where the governor and his family/friends were? Then the sign they left but Ricks group couldn't see it due to the snow? I loved that part of the book and how they tied it into the comic book of Rick's group coming across the same location.

I started on the second book, but haven't gotten into it as much as the first one. I loved the first one and enjoyed a backstory to the governor about who he was and how he came to be.

Yup, The Road to Woodbury. Came out maybe in October, just in time for S3 to start up. I did not like it so much, but it gives more back stories as mentioned in my other post and does tie in more characters to the overall storyline.

i thought this episode was incredible... lots of underlying meanings to actions in this episode.

excellent character development too. and it looks like next week the ish gets ever closer to the fan

You still might. Now they know there is a major stash of weapons and ammo nearby. They could always go back later.

if i'm not mistaken, Rick's from KY and the prison is supposed to be in Georgia, so it's quite a trek.

i would have liked to see the "highwaymen" from the comics.

So was they guy running down the road trying to catch them while they were getting the car unstuck just some random guy? Or does he show up again?

I've never read the comics. I just started watching a few weeks ago when they had the marathon on before the new episode. (didn't hardly leave the tv that week catching up between rentals and the marathon. Now the wife is hooked too.)

That was a fantastic episode. One of the best. Very sad about Duane. I hope we see Morgan again. The sneak preview for next's weeks summit meeting between Rick & The Gov looks epic. Can't wait.

I have a lot of friends and colleagues who thought last night's episode was average at best and they just want the final showdown.

I want to ask why these people are even watching the show if they feel that way. The whole point is to care about the people portrayed in the show, and last night's episode was a PRIME example of that.

I loved it, and I totally didn't see the Morgan return coming, and I say this as someone who has read the comics.

one thing bothers me though to be honest...

On the Talking Dead, they give you a lot of unknown info that you wouldnt get from just watching the show... Last nights episode stated that they had planned to bring Morgan back last season, but he was too busy filming other projects.

The reason this concerns me, is that Season 2 and Season 3 are "apples and oranges",so to speak, if they were planning on bringing him back last year, but they brought him back now i fear that this may be his only appearance. Unless they plan on completely changing the story line from what was planned...

Saw them pick up a bag. Wondered if it was his, but guess I missed that part. Was trying to get the kids to bed at the same time. That, or I'm an idiot and just didn't put two and two together.

Haha, yeah, the passed about 3 different bloodles (blood puddles) and then saw his bag. Passed it, reversed, picked it up, took off, end episode.

How many actors on the show are NOT English? I didn't know Morgan was English and then they played that interview on the `Talking Dead'. Rick, Maggie(sort of), Morgan, Governor. Am I missing anyone else?

I thought last night's episode was the best of Season 3 so far. Loved the deviation away from the increasingly-tired prison storyline. Felt more like Season 1 again.

I don't know who's going to kill the Gov, but I'm guessing he goes out taking at least 3 main characters in the process. Andrea, Merle, Tyrese.

they can't exactly kill Tyrese in the show yet if they want to go for the same gut-punch the comic did. When he killed Tyrese in the comics, Tyrese was a huge asset to the group. If they did it now, it would just be another "oh look, the black guy with a few lines got killed" moment.
