Went to Puerto Rico in 2010 with the wife and kids. It was GREAT, but expensive. It's part of the US and uses dollars so keep that in mind.
If you go to Puerto Rico, you got to make to Flamenco Beach on Culebra island. It;s one of the top beaches in the world!! Beautiful.

You can't beat cancun with the all inclusive resorts. There are some that adult only, which means there will be public nudity.

Going to Punta Cana ( Domincan Republic) in March so if you do go there please let us know what you thought of it.

I realize this fell off the radar, but thanks all for your input! We have decided on The Veranda Turks & Caicos. Great beach, all-inclusive, highly-rated...this seems like a good choice

Sweet!! T&C is a really nice spot. Stay safe and have fun!!

I was looking into renting a place from rental by owner. I priced out "beaches" resort but it was a pretty penny. So I priced out a rental unit and towel service at beaches ($100/pp/day) and was cool with that. Then my wife axed the whole vacation for a main floor washroom reno!!

Booooooooooooo should've just told her to wash everything by hand and hang 'em out on a clothesline like they did in the good ol' days

Not a Laundry room, a washroom!! lol. I dont mind having a new "Throne" to read my mags!! The hidden bonus in all this is that the govt has a $75 rebate program going on water saving toilets!! A cash back she'll never see lol.

Wait, so the Canadian translation for "bathroom" is "washroom" then? OK, I think I got it now. Still, should've taken the vacation and built an outhouse or something. Actually, that would've been a good pre-vacation project for you.

I guess new "washrooms" are pretty nice too, though

Washroom (Vanity/sink/toilet)
Bathroom (Vanity/dual sink/toilet, shower/tub)
Laundry room! (Can only enter if you are the wife since I ruin cloths if I do laundry)

We'll probably check out places in the new year. Ill wait for your trip report to see how Turks treated you!!

I'd recommend:

Jamaica - Ocho Rios or Montego Bay
Dominican Republic - Punta Cana
Aruba (haven't been yet but heard great things)

Jamaica wins for food - they cook everything!!
Cuba wins for beach - but you guys are not allowed there! lol
Grand Bahia Princess resort in DR is legit! Great overall
