Default Livestrong... more like livefraud

I love hearing people stick up for this guy saying he has done so much for cancer research.... I am sure most will be shocked to learn his foundation has given $0 to cancer research since 2005....

This guy might be the biggest fraud since Bernie Madoff..... Long read here but some good information.

"Livewrong" would have been a better choice for the topic title.

Actually, I was aware of this info. Seeing as how there is next to nothing I can do about it, I choose not to make threads about it on a hobby message board.

off topic for a reason.. nobody asked for you to reply but maybe you could have informed all the people who posted in the other threads how much he has done for cancer research... I bet those people have no clue he hasn't done squat since 05.

I guess I should also count my lucky stars I didn't follow the crowd and bought one of those stupid, ugly, yellow rubber bands.

for what it's worth, the better business page about Livestrong (scroll down to the use of funds pie chart):

Read the mission statement of his organization. Livestrong was created to empower cancer survivors. I have a lot more to say on this but I am in my iPod and my son is on my lap.

Wow, the mighty sure have fallen--

My mom gave me his autobiography a long time ago----I read it and only one thing stuck with me----and thats how (in my humble opinion) he ditched his wife and kids once be become whoever he is. I woudnt of walked across the street to shake his hand today or 20 years ago

It's a million times easier to admit something when you've been caught.

I'd have more "respect" if you want to call it that for him if he admitted it earlier.

I never get why people praise stars for jumping on a cause like this AFTER it affects them. Did he give a #@#@#@#@ about cancer research before he got it? Not so much.

I totally see where you are coming from but the unfortunate reality of the human condition is we really don't get it until we have lived it. Trust me.

Not true for everyone. Ive helped out charities even though i have never had to experience it first hand. I still help out financial and volunteer for fund raising and events for different non profit movements aimed at quality of life even though I have never suffered or benefited from it financially.

Some of us do good. We just dont need to cheat to do it!

That isn't what I was saying. I am saying unless you have lived with a certain condition, you will never truly understand it no matter how much I tell you about the experience. It is unique to that individual. I donate to the lupus foundation because a dear friend has it. Do I truly understand what is like to live with Lupus? By all means, no I do not. It is more than money. These things affect those suffering in every sense of the word: emotionally, physically, financially, spiritually, sexually, etc.

For me, it is why the best drug and alcohol counselors are former addicts or the best rape counselors are rape survivors. Empathy can only take you so far.

I hope he gets sued so much he goes bankrupt. His lawsuits against the ones that accused him years ago should be grilling him right now. How many counts of perjury did he commit back then? How many millions did he get from those decisions? Zero respect for the guy, even before all of this, just up and leaving his wife.

It would be hilarious to see this Maggot (sorry I could not think of a worse description) spend some time in jail for fraud. I had on good authority about five years ago that he was doping. Ever since them I have been watching how he and his henchmen have behaved and it has been frightening.

It makes me wonder if Haiku would have played the cancer card if his Blowout Tenure would have been extended.

Same, cause I had no clue he did not give anything to charity in 7 yrs. Just gives me another reason to not like him.
