I'm sure everyone has it least one thing that they're not too fond of that would make other people say "you're afraid of that?"
My one thing are centipedes and millipedes. These things have been freaking my ass out since the beginning of the year. While dropping the kids off at the pool, taking a shower, cooking and while drumming. This morning was the last straw for me, woke up, turned to my left to stand up and get out of bed and there were two of them having fun on my hoodie. I yelled like a little girl. I'm 25 and 220lbs and terrified of those things, god I hate them. Example, this is a video from a few months ago so what are you guys afraid of???

I am terrified of the bottom of the ocean floor...this makes very little sense considering I used to be an ocean lifeguard. We used to have to do a drill where we swam about 200 yards out, dove to the bottom (12 to 15 feet or so) and grabbed a handful of sand to show that we actually made it when we resurfaced
![]() Of course, you can't really see much in New Jersey ocean waters anyway, but even with your eyes closed, you can feel it getting darker and colder as you dive deeper and deeper during those drills. So those were mostly traumatizing...but even so, I hate just walking in the ocean in shallow water...there could be crabs snappin' at yer toes!

Elevators.
I wouldn't call myself full on claustrophobic - but I'm just not a fan. I've only been stuck in one once - but that just sucked so bad. I always take the stairs when I have an option. Airplanes as well - and not flying - flying I could care less. Goes back to the claustrophobic part I suppose. Once we are in the air I'm good to go as I know we are on our way and once we land you usually have very little delays getting to your gate to get off the plane - it's the sitting and waiting to take off - I don't like being cramped and told I can't move, can't stand up, can't go to the bathroom etc...and they never give you information if you're behind your "take off" time since as long as you back away from the gate you are an "on time" departure. I once sat on the runway at La Guardia for 90 minutes waiting in a line of like 10 planes to take off - I didn't even care about the delay - it's about feeling trapped because of FAA regulations when you are away from the gate.

Big machinery (think engine/pump rooms of cruise ships, I get nauseous when I see them on TV for some reason)

Funny note on this... Spiders, Snakes, and Sharks are three of the least possible animals to hurt a human being.. but are the most feared.
For me its also needles and heights.. heights are just a phobia.. .but needles I have a just reason on.. when I was 5 I was in the doctors to get a booster shot.. the nurse had a shaky hand and instead of pricking me once.. pricked me about 10-15 times. I have since always been terrified of them. I've only had blood work done once in 20 years.

Creatures with small bodies but long legs freak me out including Walking Sticks, Arachnids, certain Crustaceans, Daddy Long Legs...they just creep me out. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Snakes don't bother me at all.

Terrified of snakes. Afraid of needles.
