Depending on the pipette tip, it WOULD be nearly impossible to get it in your eye. Especially if you're using proper procedure.

Okay, I'm assuming you're implying that I didn't use correct technique but I've been doing this for a year and half, and I'm sure that if I learned one skill it's how to pipet correctly. Pipetting isn't exactly rocket science but somehow it did happen to go wrong. But I'm sure it wasn't because I wasn't using the wrong tip or bad procedure.

I hope I didn't come off as rude. I just wanted to defend myself in reference to my technique

at 17 people should be able to know wrong and right, way to answer the question too about if it was your kids fault. People should be held accountable for their own actions. I can understand if it is like a 5 year old that makes a mistake (although I would hope a 5 year old wouldn't be playing with chemicals).

You don't come off as rude, you're more than welcome to defend yourself I've just spent a ton of hours in a lab and I'm trying to figure out how in the hell you did this to yourself lol

Dude - crazy story. Glad to hear you're ok. Wow.

The three things I can take away from this story with 100% certainty:

First, your "boss" isn't that good; if he were, you'd always be wearing goggles.

Second, you should ALWAYS WEAR GOGGLES!!!!

Third, you deserve WAY MORE THAN MIN WAGE for that kind of work. Seriously, that's crazy.

If the tip is always pointed down (as per proper pipetting procedure, or P3 as I call it), there should have been no way that acrylamide should have gotten in your eye.

Shenanigans!
