It's way down there for me. I'm not big on "message" songs from rock bands (with the exception of "I Don't Like Mondays" and "Janie's Got A Gun").

Little known fact: "Hunger Strike" is about the plight of Wes Welker

That being said, I will take Pearl Jam over Nirvana any day of the week. Yeah I said it!

Believe it or not I have never listened to a full Pearl Jam album. Which one should I start with?

I like Pear Jam - however not huge on my list. Jeremy, Even Flow, and Indifference are the only ones that stick out to me.

Vs.,their 2nd album is fantastic as well. Whatever you do stop at Vitalogy. The band went totally downhill after that.

I like "No Code" quite a bit, but I know a lot of PJ fans don't.

They tried to evolve with No code. I didn't like the revamping of their style. I guess they were trying to move forward with the changing landscape of music but I kind of considered it a sell out.

I don't know about that. I think it was more of the influence they had touring with Neil Young a lot before they put out "No Code". "Off He Goes" is almost a Neil Young song.

Dont think I really liked any other full album just various songs. So, JosieDively, you might want to get rearviewmirror. 2 disc greatest hits thru 2003. Quote:
Point being... I dont consider anyone a "sellout" unless the music is "contrived". (ie most pop music is contrived) If its from the heart and simply happens to go huge ... it is what it is. Sorry I simply happened to quote you twice Ray. In no way am i trying to argue or pick on you personally..

Love PJ!
I had my head shaved during their MSG concert back in 2003. You can see my head at the end of the DVD when they were covering Baba O' Reilly. Pearl Jam Concert Setlist at Madison Square Garden, New York on July 8, 2003 | setlist.fm I cannot pick my favorite song though. My favorite Eddie (sans PJ) song has to be: EDDIE VEDDER / RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN - THE FACE OF LOVE - YouTube

One of the best shows I have seen was a Pearl Jam show. It was their first tour after they fought with Ticketmaster. It was before you could purchase tickets online. I won the line lottery so I got to purchase tickets first from that location. I got sixth row seats right in front of Mike McCready. He played the guitar solo to Go behind his head. I remember the crowd being really amped that night and the band had a lot of energy as well. Everyone waited so long for Pearl Jam to go on tour while they fought with Ticketmaster.
I have lots of favorites but if you have to pin me with one, I like Do The Evolution.
