The day has come - My Daughter's Heart Surgery is Tomorrow
My daugther Grace is having Open Heart Surgery tomorrow to replace her Pulmonary Valve at John Hopkins in Baltimore. She was born with this heart defect and her body has been able to adjust to the performance shortfall of her heart until just recently. She will be 11 years old in three weeks and is in overall good health, but her heart has caused her to be very short on breath and very slow to bounce back when she does too much physically (13-14 hours of sleep needed on these days).

It has been a long and worrisome wait to get to the Surgery Day. I am excited to see what this surgery can do for her quality of life.

If you have any prayers you can send our way I guarantee that every one of them will go to a great little girl and be appreciated by my entire family.

That must be one strong little girl you have there.
I'm sure you are a very proud father.

I pray that Grace will have a successful surgery tomorrow. I won't pretend to know what you're going through. I can only imagine. My prayers are also with you and the rest of Grace's family. Stay strong, and that will help keep her strong.

May God bless you all.

Want to wish the absolute best to your daughter Grace. We just named our daughter Madeline Grace (2 weeks old) and I cannot imagine both the worry and excitement. God is great and will watch over your little girl. Our prayers are with you and your daughter will be added to our church prayer chain. God Bless you all and keep us updated.

Said a prayer for your little angel. My daughter had to have surgical Pyloromyotomy at a few months old because she could not hold anything she was fed down and would throw up really bad. Surgery is always painful for parents to have to go thru with children but just stay strong for her and everything will come out fine my friend.

I said a prayer for your daughter and family. I hope everything goes according to plan and she makes it home soon! God bless you and your family.

My son had a small procedure done in March when he was 8 months old. He was only in surgery for 15-30 minutes, but I can tell you that I watched every second go by. We got to see him after an hour and he was up and smiling (drugs probably had something to do with it).

I had a hard time with letting him go that 1 time for an hour, I can't even imagine how some parents feel when their kid has had multiple surgeries.

I wish your daughter luck, she'll be back to normal in no time. Your family will be in my thoughts.

After having chest surgery at the age of 12 myself, this one hits pretty close to home.

All positive thoughts and blessings to your family, the surgery period always sucks but hopefully it brings a renewed quality of life post-recovery.
