Why punish the kids that do enjoy playing these games that have no connection to the low lifes?

Why only shut down Call of Duty? There are plenty of games that involve killing. How about GTA 5?

Theres an online GTA5 multiplayer?

I selected COD but it can be any/all first person shooters. How is depriving kids of playing online for 24hrs a punishment? are you serious? Turn off the multiplayer for 24hrs and they will be forced to think about what happened.

Online multiplayer has nothing to do with the situation. Killing is killing in a virtual environment.

There's a reason these games are for ages 18+, but parents insist on purchasing the game for their kids. Shame on them. But shutting down online multiplayer isn't going to do #@#@#@#@.

Video games don't kill people. People kill people. Why just video games? Why not shut down the world?

I have plenty of sympathy for what happened. It is terrible and sickening. I just don't see how shutting down a video game will help the situation.

Shutting down a game for 24 hrs is better than sitting around doing nothing. It would affect the people responsible for the shootings-to-be.

I know first hand how violent games desensitize people NO MATTER WHAT AGE.
Young adults who are recluse because of socio-economic situations vent out/entertain themselves with video games because its convenient. If you mess with this people will be forced to open their eyes to whats going on.

Heres an example. What would happen if Activision/Other Gaming Companies shut down their multiplayer capabilities every time there was a massacre of this type and the persons pass-times where found out to be playing violent video games?

Not only would it make people aware of whats happening nationwide with these problems but it would create pro-activeness to resolve problems within the community so that it doesn't happen again.

You need to cause an action to receive a reaction. Sitting around lobbying for gun control wont do anything for this age-group that is already slipping in sliding.

If 9/10 times theres a public shooter (not terrorist or gang related) and he spends his free time playing violent 1st person shooters to get ideas/tactics then why not target this demographic with your knowledge campaign?

People are desensitized because of the frequency of these things. Its very sad, yet very true. Playing COD didnt cause us to be desenseitized, it was the fact that it happens WAY too often now.(Im 95% sure I spelled Desenseitized wrong)

Agreed. Didnt a case like this go to the courts already in the early 2000s over games influencing violent shooting or behaviors? I could be wrong but I thought it did and the game companies won. It might have been the 90s
