Default any computer (PDF, ADOBE, Word) experts here?

I had a cover letter and three letters of reccomendation emailed to me and it is a PDF adobe file. When I save it and go to it where I saved it Notepad opens up blank, do any of you know how to save it as microsoft word? I mainly need to upload it to a job application online so I can send it off.
I had seen a few converters but you had to pay a monthly fee for that, are there any free converters? I have adobe 9 if that helps.
thanks Jeff

unless im missing a step in-between, you should be able to just "save as" a microsoft word document. try opening the attachments from the email you got sent with microsoft word. know what I mean?

For some reason it will not let me "save as" it just lets me "save" and then when I do and open the file it comes up blank in notepad.

Thanks anyways though.

There are a ton of free converters online, the first one in a Google search is free:

PDF to Word Converter — 100% Free

It depends on how the PDF was created.

If it was created from a Scan you are SOL.

If it was created from MSWord you chould be able to save it.

If you have the newest vrsion of Adobe Reader you should be able to select and copy the text in the PDF. If you can't then i don't THINK you have any options.

Just to see if it shows up in Word, right click the document and choose "Open With". Search for Word and hit OK.
