I never saw internet until 1997. I had no clue what it was.
I still don't understand the pound sign and twitter.

I was gonna say the first "PC" my family got had Windows 95 all I knew on the IBMs before that were programs that were on floppy disks.
As for the "#" on Twitter, it's called a hashtag, and what it does is it categorizes a group of tweets based on the designation (usually keywords) placed after the symbol.

ha, first PC was something from Costco, it was like a 486 something, dial up, prodigy was the cool service, big old 3x5 floppy's, Dos 3.0, dot matrix printer using Lotus Works for papers!
I did recently toss out my 2nd monitor. It was a compaq something dated 1997, weighed a good 20 lbs for a 14-15 inch thing. I used to know a ton about computers and the net and such, but since I left college in 2000 things have advanced so quickly and left me in the learning seat. I learned how to type back in HS on an actual typewriter!
