Default Problems with word?

Hello, I am typing a paper and have asked my teacher if she has ever seen this problem before but she wasnt sure how to fix it, a few other classmates have the same problem as me.

anyone know why there are extra spacing between some lines compared to the other? The whole document is double spaced

Highlight text, right-click, click "Paragraph", under Spacing make sure "Before" and "After" both say 0 pt.

Did this fix your problem?

Did you copy/paste the quote in that section? You may have also copied the formatting associated with the original location.

Highlight the line "Parents may not be able to afford...".

Then click on the "Format Painter" button (the paintbrush near the top left).

Then click and hold and drag from the line "and can lead from" all the way to the bottom. It should make every line the same format as the "Parents may not" one.

see if you can get away with using Arial for your papers. It's a "bigger" font

Ill remember that for the future. My papers right now dont have to be a certain length, just a certain number of sentences and to get our point across

True, my school combats that with us having to use Turabian citation/rules. Times New Roman, 12 point.

My professional writing course recommended serif print fonts, they are easier on the eyes. Typographers don't know why Microsoft defaulted their programs with Calibri, a terrible font. I stick with Times New Roman because it is the easiest to read.

It is strange that middle school, high school and undergraduate school post mimimum paper lengths. Most of my graduate school papers are maximum restricted to a certain length. My law professor likes limiting us to 200 word questions and 3 page answers. He flat out said 'no BS.'

I believe eight of the nine classes I've taken thus far, the professors flat out say 'I stop reading at the end of page ()'

I have finals on Saturday and turned in my projects/papers last Saturday. The International Finance paper was limited to approximately 35 pages. I hope I don't get killed for turning in 42 pages.

Enough off topic banter. Time to start studying again. Good luck with your paper.

In university they limit case studies and assignments. Most students have a tendancy to include way more information than needed as they lost a slight perspective of the actual subject.

I remember in school we were limited to 10 pages for a certain case study. Anyone who handed in their case study with 10+ pages had it ripped off the end as we did practical work. Prof said when he means 10, he means 10. Anything more is garbage to him therefore he wasnt going to waste his time with anything after 10 pages.

I simply find it strange that over half an academic career teaches one method only to have that method torn up at later academic stages.

When you hand the CEO a letter, it better be short and sweet or he isn't reading it. I prefer a work email to jump to the point without the extra words.

Writing a perfect Executive Summary should be a undergraduate requirement.
