Need some ifno/opinion from an attorney

I just got off the phone with a woman who was calling me asking if I served on the jury trial on a murder trial in 1995.

She said that my last name, at a minimum, was pulled from public and or trial records and that she has been calling every Zinck in Massachusetts trying to get in touch with me.

Seems the killer (I can call him that. He was convicted) has maintained his innocence and she works for this outfit..

I'm just wondering if it's possible that she got my name from the court records.

I have no problem talking about the trial with her but the call was lust a little strange

Life without parole.

Claimes he is innocent because we know there are no guilty people in prison.

Will be calling the DA's office tomorrow. The woman seems legit from the research I have done in the last hour.

This was a casebook deliberation as the votes broke down along racial lines on the 1st vote even before we started deliberations.

I realize project innocence is a valid organization and has done some great work, but I think it's wrong that they are the ones doing the initial reaching out, I think they should need to go through the courts or something first.

I'd be freaked the F out if anyone but the courts were getting in contact with me over a case I was in the jury where the guy got a life sentence.

So just had a conversation with a Boston Police Lt assigned to the DA's office.

Unless the presiding judge issues a court order there is no was to get the jury list. The jury commission receives 3-4 of these requests per year.

So it's possible that the woman who called me was in tough with the original defense atty and got my name from the questionaire that I filled out some 17 years ago.

Found the killer all over the web with different sites where you can give him money and such. You can write him and even visit him.

Now he was sentenced to life without parole but it shows his earliest release date as 2023? Wait what?

Jon, if you have an attorney refer her to them. You never know what they are getting at legally. Make sure your protected and let your attorney weed through what exactly they are getting at. If this person worked for the DA or the state maybe but I would not have even confirmed when she called if I was or wasnt, simply for your own protection. A man possibly being innocent is something serious but if they have new evidence or are fishing, they can talk to your attorney.

Jon doesn't need protection. If I know him (which I clearly do) he has a derringer pistol tucked away in one of his orifices for protection.
