I committed a quadruple homicide this morning
So we rent an older 1900s house in town until our new home is built. Last night I was downstairs in the basement pulling some cards out of the safe. I saw something scurry, but didn't actually see it. Figured it was a mouse. So I bought some traps. Needless to say I'm gonna puke.

I set 4 glue traps and 2 regular traps. 2 glue traps untouched, 1 regular trap they made off with the peanut butter, and caught 4 in 3 traps. If I catch 10 more mice I'm burning this house to the ground or moving out. |
RIP little fellas :(

You should give these pics to the owner. Press him to get an exterminator.

Lock it up!
You should give these pics to the owner. Press him to get an exterminator.
If I catch some more, I will. I'm in tight with the owner. Our church owns the house. It's right next door and is convenient. A local real estate agency handles the rental, so one call and my problems would disappear. I'll see how many I catch and update this thread with pics.
Rat killer :( my python would have loved those fat a$$ rats. I haven't seen any mice poop upstairs, so I'm hoping they are confined to the basement only |
Be glad you don't live on a river.
I catch 5 of those bastards a day and I'm a neat freak... |
Get a cat and your work will be done for you. It's like having a slave that's works for food hahaha.
|
Let me tell you something Grantie poo...if you ever stay at my grandma's house and you hear something scurrying around in the ceiling, you better hope it's a mouse, because it could be something bigger, meaner, and with sharper teeth.
|
I thought glue sheets were banned because they are inhumane??
Alteast you caught those little suckers. |
Those are huge! We have a mouse right now, too. The thing is driving me crazy.

wow...we had one in our garage and got it with a glue trap...drowned it so it would die quickly instead of starving to death....
heard chocolate syrup is the best for attracting mice...who knew |
You didn't have to kill them.....any "proper" landlord would have evicted them for not paying rent.

If you have a hole the circumference of a dime they will get in your house, and based on that one night catch you will have another 5-10 caught by next morning.
The house being the age it is probably has numerous entrances in the basement and I'm sure they are getting upstairs in your living space. make sure your food (open boxes etc.) are in air tight containers. I worked as am Environmental coordinator/Sales for a large pest control firm in Ma. right out of College and have seen infestation like yours too many times. Always place the traps/ glueboards on the perimeter walls like you did as they run the walls using there whiskers as 'guides'. It may be impossible depending on how the basement is constructed but look for the holes and seal up the best you can. DON'T use bait as they will die in the walls etc. and you will have major problems! Good Luck! |

We have kids and they leave stuff out, plus our pantry has cereal boxes on the floor. No signs yet. I'm hoping they don't make their way up here. I've got 6 traps set right now. If I catch a couple more I'm calling the landlord and getting an exterminator out here. |

Just make a cursory check of your basement to look for any potential entrance for these little little guy's, if you question a specific area put your trap against the wall in the immediate area to see if you get any 'action' Best of Luck! |
