I haven't seen the departed but I will go with that one as the town is overrated. I enjoyed it but I did not see what all the hype was about im glad I waited for the dvd rental instead of seeing it at the theatre.

Departed, hands down. Much better cast and plot

The Town just felt too 'fake', hard for me to take Afflack seriously. It was decent, but that great.

I feel that Mystic River is better than both of these...if you haven't seen it you need to. Great, great movie.

I really like the Town - but it's easily the Departed

Both are good. The Departed might be a better movie, but I think Jeremy Renner is just a bad ass in The Town.

Watching the Town on tv again right now, and I finally figured something out

Right before Afleck splits town, he leaves a wad of cash behind a photo and I've always wondered who that was supposed to be for.

Well I normally focus on the wad of cash, but this time I looked at the photo and it had the same last name as his character, must be his uncle or something. But in the picture the guy is wearing a transportation uniform, so it got me thinking to look out for the guy who gets on the bus that he drops off at the other station

Low and behold its the same person, never noticed that part of the movie before
