We are thinking about buying one and parking our primary car just to run around town and all that and was curious if anyone had one and if so what were you opinions on the car? We are also looking at other cars but she likes it the most and i think they have some decent incentives on them right now
Thanks in advance |

i had a Focus a few years ago and it was total junk...transmission went out at about 90K and it had several other problems...would rather walk than drive another one.
In contrast, I have a 2006 Scion with 170,000 miles on it that i've never had a problem with and is still on the original clutch.

I have one. Use to have a Impala, 2008 I think it was. So I can only compare those 2.
Focus trunk and inside are much smaller then the Impala. Focus is a 4 banger for sure, no get up and go at all. My automatic head and tail lights never worked. So I have to turn them on and off every time. Old school style. Gas mileage is about 1.8 miles a gallon better then the Impala, but the Impala was a 6. |

I work for GM so I would recommend the 2013 Chevy Malibu. They redesigned it this year and it looks sharp. At the very least go to your Chevy dealer and give it a test drive.
Whatever you decide please buy American.

I would recommend Ford, but only because I have a stake in them

I rented a Focus for a few days on an out of town assignment in the Motor City last Fall and I thought it sucked - souped-up piece of shizz - the kicker was the absolutely incomprehensible audio system. We leased a 2012 Corolla this for next to nothing and it's no comparison in terms of quality. Much better deal, too, since it will actually be worth something in 3 years, unlike the typical Ford product.

That's a negative. I don't want to derail the OP's thread. I can't get into too much detail since I work in Purchasing but I would say about 50% of our parts are manufactured in the USA.
