Hi guys, as some of you might already know, I am a bit of a gamer. So when Blowout had the Wii U giveaway promotion I asked if I could design a bracket based on the games nominated. They said yes! I am happy to present to you...

well, i think it's just a numbers game. Some franchise that is newer or has a hit installment recently will win.

There won't be enough nostalgia votes out there to push many of the older games past the first round. I can see Mike Tyson's Punch Out moving a bit deeper, but not any farther than round 3 unless some serious older upsets happen around it.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is still my favorite game OAT. Black Ops 1 is right up there.

For the record, Super Temco Bowl had the most nominations by far.

Plus, i was surprised games like Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country and Secret of Mana even showed up, let alone get multiple nominations.

So, don't assume anything

I wish I had caught it in the beginning for the nominations. Looks like they just got seeded that way, which is unfortunate.

I seeded it randomly, I simply did not have the time to go through and try to do all fair match-ups.

That being said, it turned out surprisingly well, and really only the winner matters.

(plus the new final fantasies are bad, like god awful!)

like I said, I think some of the older games will make it out of round 1, but once they run into the hotter new franchises they'll be in trouble.

Ugh. I absoulutely despise both of the Black Ops branches of Call of Duty. Treyarch sucks...

I loved FF7 when I first played it, I really did, but honestly it has not stood the test of time.

I find others in the series, like FF 4 and FF 9, have fared better. On the other hand anything after FF XI has been unplayably bad. Culminating in FFXIV which was so completely broken and awful, square had to scrap it and re-release the game.

A little disappointed not to see Pole Position in the brackets, it was the first video game I played. Some of those match-ups I didn't know either of the games. My gamer days stretched from 1985 to 1999 or so.

But honestly I have found RE to be the same. 1,2, and 3 were the best. 4,5 and 6 just didn't have the creepy aspect that the old ones had. The creepy camera angles and crazy puzzles were what made the games and they removed both of those.

I agree with the FF statement though. I haven't been satisfied with the series since ff9 and even that was pushing it. Ff8 is my favorite of the series.

I agree, both FF and RE, when considered as a franchise whole, are average at best. Despite the fact the seeding was random, I don't think it was a bad match up. Personally, I don't feel either deserves to get too far. *ducks head*
