you misread what i mean what i mean is instead of doing it thru the computer the called it in. calling it in gets you an answer on the spot the computers are so jammed up its hours sometimes days. i could have typed it out better as well. also i have 2 hi-points one 9mm and one 38 and i have NEVER had a problem out of either one and on a aide note took my new sig sauer m400 to the range and straight out of the box after 2 shots the scope is dead on and 1 inch groups at 100 yards and after 300 rounds its a GREAT new gun

Yup. When I bought my first handgun (Taurus pt92 9mm) I had to wait the 5 days. When I went to pick it up they called in for the background check and after like 10 min I was out the door. By the time I bought my other guns (2 .45 handguns, 30-06 rifle, & shotgun) I already had my ccw. I simply went into the gun store & Walmart, paid, waited 5-20 min for the background check, and took the guns home that same day.

Ok im going to go to a firing range today to try them out

I will be shooting the XD40 and the M&P 40 today I think... maybe the glock22 instead of the M&P

I wish it wasn't so much to try each of them

Nice one, I am looking at the same gun except I want the acp .45 if you don't mind me asking what did you spend? Around here they range anywhere from $429.00-$689.00

i live in CA and everything is more expensive here...

That said, i went to 4 different stores and priced it out, the highest i heard was close to $700

I ended up buying it form a very nice store with the largest inventory of all of them for $530 +tax

Ah sounds like a deal, the place I saw it at was called "Discount guns" and it was also used. Needless to say they didn't like me when I told them I have seen it for a couple hundred cheaper for a new one. They thought they would trick me and asked where they could get it for that price so I pulled out all the business cards I got from a gun show the week earlier.

i also picked up a box of these that i keep in my mags when im at home... i obviously dont use these at the range though

Just forewarning you...a lot of gun ranges don't allow aluminum casings. It has to do with being able to pick up brass a lot easier so they can sell it off in bulk for the reloaders.

I love Hornady ammo...some of the best around!

Good pick with the XD...can't go wrong with that choice! I'm looking at trading one my my .45's for a more compact XD .45!

those are JUST for home defense.... besides they are WAY too expensive to shoot at a range

these are my range rounds, i got a box of 250 (the last one at any walmart in my area) for $87 yesterday

My gf and i went to the range last week and this was our last two targets...

the first one i let my gf shoot 10 rds, then i put the target sticker on it and shot from 30ft.

then this one was just me for fun, same distance

im loving this xd

go to a range that lets you fire their guns. See what style you prefer (revolver, 1911, Glock etc.) then narrow down to which specific model you prefer.

I have no experience with guns. Had a pellet gun when I was a kid. Besides that nothing. Do ranges provide the guns and ammo? How much does a trip usually cost? Thanks

tbh, I would suggest asking your friends if any of them own guns and if they go to ranges. See if you can tag along with them and pitch them a few bucks to try some of their stuff out. should be cheaper than going yourself to a store/range that will charge ya.

that's just me though. if you're anywhere near cincy, you can test fire all 3 of my hand guns.
