Default What asian country has the best food?

What country's flavors tickle your fancy? And what sets them apart?

I like Vietnamese (bun/pho) and Thai (green/golden curry).

I have had Korean BBQ but I don't know that it is a good representation of the traditional food. There was a Cambodian place by my apartment when I was away doing my undergrad -- it was a real assault on your taste buds (like Thai on steroids and 3x the spiciness).

Good question. For me it's down to Chinese and Japanese, but really it comes down to Egg Rolls vs Sushi. Ooh, very tough.

Lemon chicken pushes China ahead, though. They get my vote.

Are we talking about the bastardized American version of those cuisines or the actual cuisines?

When eating on an expense account in Japan I recommend the Blue Fin Tuna and Kobe Steak. Two of the best tasting things I have ever had.

With the exception of Fresh Vegetables, I did not find the food in China (even on an expense report) very good. If you had an expensive meal it probably meant that you were eating a 40 Year Carp prepared in a 140 year old Dutch Oven that was once used to serve a dignitary. The fish still tastes like carp and if you are the guest of honor (as I was a couple of times) you get to eat the eyeball while everyone watches. It does get worse when they break out the Baijo to drink, but that is another story.

I would have to say Thai food. I love the amount of seasoning and spices used in the cooking. Tastes delicious

It is Filipino NOT Philippino.

On topic I like Thai, vietnamese, Japanese, Indian there's so many.. I like them all.

Of course I also like the more exotic filipino food like Kinilaw, Papaitan etc.

Surprised that you forgot Singapore. I've been to about half on the list and Singapore has the best food overall.
