I do not know of any card shops sadly, I have only heard of a few that are still around.
Definetly Ybor for food and Rich tampa history (although some parts off the main strip are shady do go too late). St. Pete/Clearwater beaches. Catch a show at Performing Arts Center (downtown) Busch Gardnes theme park (expensive tickets imo). The Florida Aquarium (near downtown). Lowry Park Zoo (about 15 mins from downtown) International Mall by tampa airport is prolly nicest mall (w/o hood rats lol). Outlet Mall in Ellington (research stores before you go) is decent which is about 40 mins away roughly. Enjoy the baseball game! Hope the weather is nice for you stay! Not a big casino guy myself but it is a Hardrock so there is food and cool memorabila for pictures! |

Too bad you wont be able to see the Ted Williams Museum in the Trop. I had more fun checking that out then the game itself. It is two levels of AWESOMENESS.

Go to the Salvador Dali museum. It is the largest collection of Dali's work in the world. If you do not know who Dali is, take some time to learn about him. If you visit this museum, you won't regret it. His work is magnificent.

Agree with Birdmandig for most of his rec's... Depends on what you're looking for and what vibe you like though... Something for everyone really. I used to live in Tampa, moved about 5 yrs. ago, still visit often.
Nightlife: Bay Street at International Plaza for restaurants and shopping, Blue Martini is good for a more upscale night out for drinks, dancing, and music. Ybor City is generally for a younger crowd at night, but is decent in the afternoons and early evenings for dinner. Anything on South Howard (SoHo district) is good for bars and restaurants as well (you'll find Bern's here) If you like a little more laid back and still fun, I don't think you can go wrong with Channelside. Good eats Bern's is outstanding, but very expensive Lee Roy Selmon's is great casual down home southern cooking with a modern twist - very reasonable prices and awesome food Personal favorite: Bon Appetit in Clearwater... Excellent food with a gorgeous view... Also has a piano player that can play hard rock and metal songs on a grand piano... Really cool stuff Busch Gardens is good entertainment for a theme park... Somewhat pricey but average for theme park prices If you want strip clubs, there's always Mons Venus & Odyssey 2001 on Dale Mabry... But I personally like Thee Dollhouse... Better looking girls, IMO. Finally, I'd say a great little dive that is fun and not that well known is SideSplitters Comedy Club in Carrollwood. You can usually call ahead and ask for free tickets and they'll hook you up. Good comics in there all the time, just a little pricey for bar food and drinks, but not horrible. Anyhow, have a great time! Let us know how it went once you get back! |

I love all these ideas! Does anybody know if the Yankees are good at signing autographs? I know Gary Sanchez, Mason Williams, and Slade Heathcott are on the team but they will probably be promoted

Skate Park of Tampa might have a competition going on, would be cool to check it out. I like stopping through there.
Busch Gardens is decent if into roller coasters. Tickets aren't a bad price. I second Ellington outlet mall. It's about 40 min north of me so don't go there too often, but last time I went they had some of the best prices I've come across at an outlet mall I also agree with the Florida Aquarium. If memory serves me right it's right by USF. And for some great food, take a short drive to Sarasota and go to Munchies 420 Cafe. It's been featured on Man vs Food and has some of the most out there delicious food. I've been 2 or 3 times and never left dissatisfied. Man vs Food Sarasota - YouTube |
