Default What's next for The Dark Knight??...Reboot or IV??
So curious after watching The Dark Knight Rises yet again (2nd time this year) who thinks Nolan might return to do a 4th film with Bale and JGL?? Or do you think they'll just re-boot it like The Amazing Spider-Man?? I didn't know if something might have came up on the movie buff radar about this franchise and what's in store...

I know I'm excited this year for several new comic movies coming: Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, Man of Steel, and Thor: The Dark Worlds...but wanted to see what some of you thought on Batman. I could see a Summer 2014 release for the next one, whether it be re-boot or continuation...

The Spider Man films didn't have the acclaim and popularity that the Dark Knight series did, which I think will be the sticking point.

I have a feeling we'll see another Dark Knight movie, but it won't be for a while (4-5 years). It took a while for The Dark Knight Rises, I think with no plans in the books it could be even longer.

Yeah, It was 3-4 years between the first two...I was 'wishfully' thinking they had everyone already secretly signed on-board to start filming the 4th or at least a writer already hashing it out.

If Peter Jackson (LOR) can pump them out 1 a year, Favreau (Iron Man) has them out every other year, why not get Batman going!

I don't want to see another Dark Knight from Nolan and Bale, I loved all three and I think it had a perfect ending, leave it as is and just reboot it with all new people in 5 years

There will be be no more Dark Knight movies from Nolan. He has already said so in interviews. Nolan's Batman existed in a separate world from the Gotham we have all grown up with, it was independent and separate from the previous versions, and his story is complete.

However, there are talks of another "version" being worked on. Not a reboot, but a re-launch that would allow for Batman to exist in the same world as other DC heroes, so a Justice League type movie could be made someday.

Definitely this ^^^^. "They" are getting ready to do Justice League with JGL as Batman, he should be Nightwing though but everything I've heard is that he is in fact going to he Batman for the JL series. DC wants to try to give Marvel a run for their money.

I predict JLA will have the new, hairy, emo superman plus a new Batman, probably new and emo. Then they will try to spin him off into a new Batman franchise...

The Justice League movie will be made before there is any re-launch for Batman.

Bale has gone on record as saying if Nolan finds an idea that makes sense to him, then he is willing to come back for another.

As much as I would love to see more Bale/Nolan Batman movies, it's just never going to happen. Nolan wasn't much of a fan of Batman to begin with, and Bale more than likely wants to move on to something different. They devoted years of their lives to the franchise, and I have no complaints concerning what they produced. It was an excellent trilogy, and I have no doubt that it will never be surpassed, no matter how many times they remake or "reboot" it.

I know "Justice League" is next in line, which probably means its time to screw up the character again. It was fun while it lasted.

Im hoping theres no reboot...we pretty much have it down now why he's Batman etc...

Granted I was happy with Dark Knight Returns pt 1, but Id love to have seen that go live action. Cant wait for pt 2.

The only thing wrong with this statement is the fact that if "everyone" agreed with it, the movies wouldn't make any money and Hollywood may indeed stop producing them.

Fact is, this isn't the case. They keep putting out crap, and people keep paying to watch.

I feel the same way you do, we just need to convince the lemmings.

A Nightwing movie will never happen. Warner Brothers wants Gordon-Levitt to step into the role of Batman. That doesn't sit well with me at all. If there is no Bruce Wayne, there is no Batman.

I'd prefer they wait 5 or 6 years and go with an Arkham City/Asylum style trilogy.

This. JGL takes on the role of Robin and it goes from there IMO. As long as Nolan is calling the shots, I'll pay to see it in the theatre.
