Default IPhone 5 Users Help with Chargers

So I keep buying chargers cheaply on eBay for my Iphone 5, and they all work at first then just stop working all together. All of them.

Mind you I know I should stop buying from Hong Kong but I used to with other IPhones and they worked, but am I doing something wrong with my phone? Is there a setting?

Or am I just being cheap?

I would just buy one from the apple store and save yourself the hassle.

Apple store ones are so expensive though, like 20$ a pop. I dont think I have a choice now. This is getting ridiculous. 4 of them have now stopped working.

It would be $20 well spent to not have to worry about future problems.

i'm sure you know this but apple put in some chips within the new iphone 5 cables that are suppose to regulate current or something. the third party cable guys in HK are working on replicating the chip but so far nothing is up to snuff yet. if you need another cable, just pick one up for apple for the time being.

Had no idea, would make sense why the 3rd party chargers work then stop working. Got anymore info on that?

checkout gizmodo. they did a whole thing on the launch and did a dissection of the lightning cable. last thing i heard a few weeks ago is that some of the newer cables out of HK were getting better but nowhere near as efficient as the originals from Apple. i just bit the bullet and bought an additional cable for work rather than bring the cable back and forth.

Yeah I just bought 2 Apple ones, but thats unbelievable. I thought my problem at first was moving them around and they frayed, but then the newer ones just stopped working when I didnt even move them.

Oh, proprietary hardware. Apple and their elitist attitude needs to find its way off the fiscal cliff.
