Default 85th Academy Awards Nominees

2013 Oscar Nominees | 85th Academy Awards Nominees

Suprising best picture selections, but happy to see master not one of them. Feel validated. Skyfall got snubbed, but hope it wins cinematography.

dont know why the master wasn't in the best cinematography category

Wow, I'm absolutely shocked to not see Looper get a single nomination. I enjoyed it a lot more than Silver Linings Playbook.

Silver Linings Playbook did not appear to be that elite of a movie, everything else seems pretty standard. Zero Dark Thirty kind of feels like a stretch, I wonder how much patriotism had to do with that.

Les Miserables is the only one I've seen so far but it was amazing, and I hate musicals. Hathaway should win Supporting Actress for her one solo alone.

Word on the street is Zero Dark Thirty should have swept, and that leaving it out of best director is a huge snub.

I have an internet connection, but don't care to use it to pirate movies. Music, sure, but movies, 3mb/s is too dang slow.

I don't understand what people saw in Looper. I tried my damndest to like it, but couldn't come around to doing so.

No best original screenplay for Looper?

Might have been my favorite movie of the year and really thought it was at least a lock to get nominated in that category if not to win it

Wow, out of all the Best Picture nominations, I've only seen Les Misérables. Looks like I'll be going to the movies a LOT before February 24

I read an article (Ben and Bigelow's Shut-Out and Other Oscar Reactions - Entertainment - The Atlantic Wire) that suggested that ZDT may have been a bit too political for the Academy. Affleck was the surprising omission in that category IMO, BUT I was thrilled to see first-time director Benh Zeitlin (Beasts of the Southern Wild) sneak in there.

Best Actor in a leading role is between Hugh Jackman and Daniel Day Lewis.

Lincoln was soooooooo good. I think Jackman would have been a clear winner if not for Lincoln and Daniel Day Lewis' great portrayal of Abe.

Looper was great but the plot had many holes.

I bet DDL wins best actor.

Zero Dark Thirty wasn't that political and wasn't that patriotic.

I'll be rooting for Argo across the board.

Hahahahahaha

So I'm actually in the middle of watching the whole Scrubs series right now, Cox was giving one of his lists of things he wants to happen before JD was made godfather to be daughter and one of them was Jackman winning an Oscar

Great timing to watch that episode

I have seen many of the movies mentioned this year that are up for nomination. I think that the Best Picture should go to Argo. I thought it was better than Lincoln. Argo was the best movie I've seen all year.

Lincoln would have been better if it wasn't so boring in some spots. Daniel Day Lewis will win best actor, which is tougher to argue. I thought Denzel Washington delivered a great performance in Flight (he won't win though).

Regardless of what you think of Ben Affleck as an actor, I think it's a joke he didn't get nominated for best director. It really calls into question these awards.

I would love to see Arkin win for his role in that film. He was fantastic.
