How the hell is Candlebox even remotely close in this one? I actually like Candlebox, but seriously?

I hope Layne Staley haunts you for this poll. Alice in Chains by a million miles.

Alice in Chains hands down. Candle box was good but not even in the same class as Chains.

Grant, some would say your life was sad, but you lived it anyway.

Or am I wrong and have I run too far to get home?

I dunno.

Man in the box. Contest over.

In all seriousness Candlebox has 2 really good songs, Alice in Chains has several if not a dozen.

I have seen many concerts and never once have I seen a band cover Candlebox but I have seen many cover Alice in Chains.

Opeth covered AIC. Opeth did not cover Candlebox

Therefore, AIC>Candlebox

Candlebox did open for RUSH on the Counterparts Tour in 1994...but CB is more washed up than my hands at dinnertime. And AiC is just better (or at least was when Layne was alive). Try to listen to "Don't Follow" and not get chills. You can't.

Metallica, Alice In Chains and Suicidal Tendencies were touring in 1994. AIC had to drop off the tour because of drug related issues with Layne Staley. Of all the bands in the world they could have chosen to replace AIC with, they chose Candlebox. Assuming this was a record company decision.

Anyway, I went to the concert in "DC" (Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD) and Candlebox didn't last more than a couple songs before they were booed off the stage. Heard the same treatment happened all over the country.

Needless to say, I voted AIC above.
