I still prefer classic rock from the 70s and 80s...but at least in the '90s, you could still tell bands apart. You knew what Nirvana sounded like, or Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Marcy Playground, STP, etc. Nowadays, all the new bands sound exactly the same. I couldn't tell you Sick Puppies from Shinedown to Avenged Sevenfold. It all sounds like repetitive crap.

Alice in Chains was the most influential band to rock music since Van Halen. Nobody's taken it to the next level since.

I like most decades of rock except the 1980s, I really don't like much of it. I am a big fan of Oasis. I think their album "What's the Story Morning Glory" is amazing. One of the best rock albums in history. That's right, I said it.

Nobody beats MAIDEN!!!! But not being able to tell Sick Puppies from Shinedown.. really?? Both have completely different sounds and great kids in both bands (yes I know both bands)

But as far as todays stuff.. the new In this Moment, great cd.. Korn has evolved over the last 20+

I've finally narrowed down my rock music selections to only Deftones and Tool because they are the only bands from when I was a kid that still make todays bands sound like a 5th grade marching band.

anyone else think Radiohead was way better in the beginning with albums like Pablo Honey and The Bends?

Same with Green Day. Dookie and Nimrod are 20x better then 20th Century Breakdown.

Nirvana was amazing. Pearl Jam great for me.
